Avata 2 flying backwards

My avata 2 has started flying backwards, has anyone else experienced this?

Ive not posted on dji forum or contacted them yet but after switching into manual mode then changing the camera angle i seem to feel some resistance and the drone starts flying backwards. Im totally gutted if its wrecked allready only just got it!

Im not at my computer till after the weekend but i might be able to post a video from off my phone as i recorded the process.

The one thing that ive changed was the rates on the drone but ive flown a handful of times since then. I reset the rates back to normal and it stil does it. Its funny that it only happens after changing the camera angle but it does seem to feel different straight after changing into manual too.

Any adivce? Still out and about so will have to do some research when im back. :flying_saucer:

Calibrate the RC controller

Cheers @SparkyFPV ill take a look now

Do you use Mode 2 for the controller?
Just wondering if it is in mode 1 and the left joystick has been loosened for manual flight?
Just a thought.

I mean yes its been loosend off.

Ok so you are in Mode 2 and loosened off on the left so all as should be. as Wayne @SparkyFPV as said try a calibration of the RC.

Ive been put this morning aftet calibration and its still not working properly. The calibration is for the joysticks and the camera dial. Ive run it a few times to make sure i was doing it right. Switch into manual mode and it flys but almost feels like it is in standerd/normal mode. Chmage camera angle and you can just feel friction and flys backwards. Took some more videos. Ill jave to get onto drone safe store where i bought it from and see how it comes under care refresh. Also have insurance but not sure if things are covered. Might be user error stil? :flying_saucer:

Anyone else had this issue? Maube with the og avata ? Ive seen a vidro on reddit where a guys avata just shoots backwards into the jungle.

As s TS so new, worth asking DJI directly. If is a problem it’s be warrantied.

Such a new drone and the few I’ve heard talk about the a2 is that manual (i.e. RC3 mode) is different/weird

Thanks @GunjaFPV ill jave to get onto it today

Use DJI assistant and refresh the firmware on both the drone and on the controller also reset the drone in the goggles

As for the warranty, you can take it back to the shop and get a replacement or return it to DJI for analysis and if its a fault they will replace it for free

Do not use your care refresh, that is for a crash or if you lose it

Ive spoken the dji on the phone just now and they suggested all the things thats been mentioned here, calibration, firmware, drone reset etc they also said to try adjusting the f1 f2 screws for the left joystick and then recalibrate again. And they said the ‘quickly’ cycle through the custom mode buttons and do it a few times while in the air. Not entirley sure why that would help but i guess the rocker switches in the buttons are all pretty close and can get confused in what position their in. I told them ive managed to record a video of it happening and thev asked to see it so ill post that on youtube to show them.

thought id share the clips that are showing the issues im having for future reference for people. you can see in the clips where i change into manual mode because the drone shoots up slightly. i then slowly adjust the camera angle and then the drone flys backwards and up. ive not been out since reseting the drone or adjusting the F1/F2 screws yet but i thought id share anyways.

Share the Airdata.com from one of these flights where it flys backwards

Ive not set up an air data account yet. I know its free upto 100 flights? its just something i haven’t got round to doing

Or the goggle clips ?

The best thing you can do, it doesn’t take a minute and is worth it. We can analyze the data from the flight
