Avata 2 Protective covers

Ive now used my second refresh, I thought my Avata 2 would be safe with all i added to it but the GPS was next to get hit and die… anyone found any thing really good in the way of protection for these Avata 2’s yet?

Thinking a full body light weight silicone rubber housing would be a good idea maybe?

I still cant post gifs but ill describe in great lengths what you need Lloyd. Hear goes…erm maybe a miracle! Just kidding :joy:

As im bored and enjoy trying things out for myself, i decided to work with Copilot to make my own GPS protector, so far ive
Installed Blender
Found and imported a 3d scan of the Avata 2 into Blender
Installed SimFlow 5.0 to check aerodynamics once designed
Looked into the costs to purchase a metal 3d printer - Markforged Metal X to print my design in aluminium.

Anyone here know Blender at all?

£100k to protect a £400 drone seems entirely reasonable.

Copilot suggested its £850? - it lied to me, ok, will have to be carbon then

They do make it hard to find the price, but having done a lot of work with HP’s 3D printer division, I know metal printers are usually big money - and the fact that all their dealers say ‘Contact sales for a quote’ usually means you can’t put it on a credit card!

The best I could find was this, but when you go to the page, it says ‘Request a price’.

And this - which seems pretty consistent with the Google search result. The HP Metal Jet they talk about here is a really cool bit of kit, but you’ll need a small industrial unit, hazmat PPE and, from memory, three phase power as well as the £350k to buy the printer!

Yeah I’ll stick to plastic lol
