Some lovely backpacks but they just seem like camera backpacks. I need one that does both, unless I missed one?
I use the Lowepro Flipside Trek. I can fit DSLR, 3 lenses, small flash, DJI Mini2 with contoller, tablet, spare batteries and charging hub in the main camera compartment. Fullsize laptop and a few filters in the laptop/tablet compartment. In the top I can get some food and lightweight jacket. Mesh side pockets carry a small flask of coffee, vape and other bits and bobs. Waste/hip straps also have a couple of small pockets for car keys, phone or other bits I want quick access to. The beauty of this bag is being able to get the shoulder straps off, swing it round the front and have access to your gear without having to remove it. I could do with it being a little bigger, maybe another 5ltrs. But itās well made and comfortable enough for me to use all day. Plus there is 25% off it just now.
Recently, I purchased a joblot of carboot sale bits and bobs, only because I wanted 2 of the items. In the bags and boxes, I found an old flight case, which is only 40x25x10 cm or 16x10x4 inches. It had no lining. But I thought I could do the same to this as I did with my Hitman case
I bought some pick n pluck foam for a tenner, cut it and fixed in place with spray adhesive. I wanted a āGrab n Goā case for my Mini 3 Pro. I think it turned out well
It stores the Mini 3 Pro, DJI RC, battery charger, 5 batteries, leads, 6 ND filters and busines cards.
This is not a recommendationā¦yet! But this just popped into my email and I shall be having a look when it lands in store. I doubt itās going to beat my Lowepro but at 15 quid itās got to be worth a punt, even if I only end up using it to carry my ever increasing lunch demands to work
Have you bought one yet? Interested to see the inside layout.
Not had a chance to get in yet, but Iāll be pucking one up if i can, Iāll post details here
Nice bag, Iāve been hammering eBay and Amazon for the last week trying to decide on a bag/case for drone, a hard case would be perfect for site work, chuck it in van and away you go but only carries one drone, or a bag like yours to fit 2 mavics in, controllers and all the guffins that goes with them, advantage of the bag is you can use it anywhere anytime and goes on your back to carry and carries a lot more, more convenient than a hard plastic case to carry by hand that will only hold what it was designed for.
If anyone is interested, these back packs are pretty darn goodā¦
Waterproof
No weight in it
Durable
Hard top
I can fit 2 drones in at a time, 2 controllers four batteries for each drone, iPad mini, filters etc.
Itās been with me loads of times, probably more than the wifeš¤£, up and down hills, Iāve been caught in rain showers, dropped the thing when fullš±. I canāt fault it.
It may be 55 quid or so, but well worth it in my opinionš
Hereās the link if anyone is interested. .

Ps. Had to delete and repost, I forgot my OP. ID was on show (thanks @BudgieUK Peter )
lol I was actualy looking at this on amazon lastnight but wasnt sure about the depth on the amazon pics on if the rc controller would fit or not as its ātallerā than the non screen one. But I see you even left on the controller sticks on yours.
that was very usefull thank you, seems to be loads of room.
edit: I just bought it !! I get it tomorrow
The Aldi bag, fits my Mini 2 combo case sat on its base and a Sony RX camera at the side. 2 side pockets and 2 front. Rubber type base so it shouldnāt soak in water on wet ground.
This looks quite spacious for the price. Considering Iāve got a Ā£200+ Lowepro on my wish list since adding a mirror less to my kit.
Does it seem durable? Part of me is spend the Ā£200 and spend it once rather than buying something cheap and then buying again later when it inevitably fails.
EDIT: Although I see Shawn from air photography has it and one of the few YouTubers I respect. If itās good enough for him!!!
In a word. Yesš.
Iām the same as yourself, Iād rather spend more and pay for quality, than buy cheap and have to buy again in 12 months time.
Itās near enough with me all time when Iām out, I donāt treat it with kid gloves either.
The quality is great, the zips are sturdy, the stitching is sound as far as Iām concerned and the shell itself seems to be hardwaring. Iāve had it about a year.
The only thing Iāve added, and itās just because I canāt be bothered taking the sticks off, is a block of foam inbetween the sticks in their little pocket to stop any pressure from the bag onto the sticks.
Maybe they could have put a couple more little pockets on the outside, thatās my only gripe and itās a small one.
If you were looking at spending 200 quid, I donāt know what youād get, but certainly for 55 Iām well chuffedš
This is whatās on my wish list. But I think Iāll probably save myself Ā£200.
Some of the aldi and lidl stuff is pretty well made, biggest problem is quality control can be a bit hit or miss. I always take the stuff home and have a really good look at all the stitching, if any of it looks ropey then it goes back for an exchange. I carry my camera gear in a Lowepro flipside which is probably the best bag Iāve owned. It usually carries 2 dslr with 300mm zoom lenses fitted, several lenses, small flash, various filters, smal laptop. Depending on what Iām up to the top section will either hold the mini2, or some lunch. The downside is the price and the lack of external pockets for easy access to must have, at hand items. Thats where the Aldi bag looks like it might win
Iām impressed by the Aldi bag for itās price. Rectangular so my Mini 2 is inside in its DJI bag with room at the side for a Sony RX100 in its own case so additional protection for both. The 4 pockets are wide/tall but not that deep but would easily take batteries. Elasticated strap on the top to hold something else in place and velcro loops for a fishing rod, not found anything to use these for, yet.
Took time to check it over in store, I certainly wouldnāt have bought the sacrificial bag that everyone else had clearly been mauling.
I forgot the one minor issue. Iām 6ā, 18stone and the shoulder straps need to be at full length to fit comfortably. It could be the design of the bag being rectangular, normal rucksacks are fine, but had this been a year ago and 2stone heavier, I would probably have taken it back.
hehehe, that wont be an issue for me! Iām only an ickle little lad at 5ā6", I usually have a problem getting the straps to be short enough
Seeing as you mentioned it, my other thought was it doubling up as a day pack for fly fishing off the beaten track. Iāll be popping into my local store today for a look. Cheers for the info
That is a nice bagš. Quite plush. And tbh when I was looking around for one, I was eyeing up something like that, then had to reign myself inš¤Ŗ.
The need for me was to transport which ever drones in what I thought would be a safe bag, I think I found one that fitted the bill, for my needs.
The one youāve shown in the link looks larger (I was looking for the Lt cap but couldnāt find it) than mine, and has a few more gizmos for differing equipment.I think it would have been over kill for my situation.
All I can vouch for is what Iāve said already, to me the build quality is great and it does fit quite some gear in, obviously you can reconfig it to different situations.
If you buy one I donāt think youāll be disappointed. It is what it is, a great bagā¦maybe a bit small for some people, I donāt know .
Good luck on your quest anyways, hope you find the perfect bag mateš
