Best or worse place to position this on MA2

I already have my Strobon Cree at the back end so that space is taken.
This came with a double sided sticker and a small zip tie.
TBH i don’t like the idea of permanently sticking it to the drone because of the issues when charging it (it’s easier if i can just remove it like the cree with a velcro type thingy) but could do with best position, or actually where not to put it.
Any views?
Mike

Perhaps you can get a mount 3D printed by one the folk on here :man_shrugging:

Thanks Chris, Now there’s a thought I had not considered, thank you. Would it be a bespoke unit or are you aware of someone who sells them on here?
Mike

You can find free 3D models online …

Then pop over to the 3D Print thread and ask if someone could print it for you.

Thanks again Chris, i don’t have the ‘neck’ to go that route, i’m going to get a roll of that mushroom 3M velcro stuff and add a bit to each battery and swap the buzzer to whatever one is currently in the drone.
Cheers

I done the same in the past. I have also used heat shrink clear tubing which worked very well, and it allowed to remove them quickly to charge. See photos below.

That good Sir is a beautiful looking drone, I adore that colour how’d you do that?
The idea with clear heat shrink is fabulous, i’m off to Amazon to get some. I guess you just cut it off when it needs charge and replace the shrink wrap?

It’s a wrap kit from Amazon.

No, I used the same piece each time. It was tight enough to stay on when flying, but could be slid off when it needs a charge.

How much of a tw@ is it to install the skin?
I can’t get how you re-use the shrink, I would think that if it’s loose enough then surely it would slide downwards and off when flying?

Took me about 45 minutes.

I just heated once on the drone, so it was tight with the crees and beacon in place. It was tight enough that it would not move on its own. But it could still be slid off with some force.

Love that video, there is no way on earth, with my eyes i could do that.

But, the shrink wrap thing, i’m going to steal your idea.
Thanks for you help, much appreciated.
Mike

No worries, good luck :+1:
