I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
Land owner permission not required.
You cannot drive here, I walked from Hays Lane, using a public footpath for most of it, but even then it's not easily accessible. That said, once you get there, it is amazing, and the views are far reaching.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 13/11/2021. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I’ve lived in the area for 20 years and explored most of these old forts at some time during that period but didnt know about this one - stumbled on it by accident while pawing over my OS map of the area
As you say, bit of a climb to get up to the fort but worth it indeed

I’t a nice spot for sure. You parked a lot closer than me. I parked on Hays Lane and used the path, as shown in my vid above. At the time, the autumn leaves were falling and beautiful colours everywhere.
Broadtown White Horse is also near there. About a mile southwest of Bincknoll. If you follow the woods on the left of your 1st photo, it’s just outside of the photo, where the woods bends left out of view.

I love Malmesbury, such a nice area. Steeped in history too. I learnt a heck of a lot whilst researching for that video. Spent ages in the museum, they couldn’t get me out
Almost crashed my drone at one point too
i should just point out I’m NOT one of the elite Freeman of the town… Just saying
