According to the accurate-as-always BBC weather app, the winds are even worse in Wigan at 14,506mph 
Thankfully by Friday it looks like it will have passed.
Winds expected to drop to 115mph then 6mph.

Interesting thought. Would that be silent … it’s faster than the speed of sound, so any noise created would be blown away before you heard it.

If that wasn’t enough, just had a phone notification from Aurora Watch of a level 10 Solar Event, imminent. Was just about to go over the park for some flying practice with my new Maven app, but I’ll go for brownie points and do The Squeeze’s shopping instead…
Airdata has some high ‘extreme’ kp figures for this evening as well. I know some of you don’t think this stuff really affects drones, but, especially with my luck, I prefer to play safe.
OTOH if it fries a few seagulls it’ll be worth not flying this evo…
