One door closes and another one slams in your face (not surprising in this sort of wind). The weather window I’d hoped for end of next week is vanishing as Ventusky is updated, and it’ looking more like the following week now; of course, the same thing may well happen again.
A minor positive is that the temperatures are creeping up and there are a few calm evenings that I could use to practice night-flying over the rec… I’m even thinking of buzzing around indoors, but The Squeeze is agin’ it (the wizzywhirly frightens her) and it’s not a big flat!
Best forecast is to look out the window … forecasts are never that accurate at the best of times, if you see a beak in the the weather go grab a flight before your drone becomes obsolete
‘ if all waited I doubt many of us would never fly ‘
Not had the drone out for weeks. I keep looking out the window - but nothing changes… today it’s blowing a hooley… another day, another no fly day… oh well.
The rain radar is from NetWeather. Updates every 5 minutes, never more than 15 minutes from actual time. No forecast, but the history animation is accurate and detailed enough for you to get a very good idea about the next two hours.
Cheers for that, it’s the wind map I was interested in as I noticed it has a tab for surface pressure. I use Windfinder which I like but no surface pressure charts.
Just had a powercut, bit of a difference in service compared to our rural members, engineer onsite and fixed the power in under 10 mins as per Northern Power Grid
Weather does appear to be on the route to being a bit better so hopefully can get out flying, I must be honest I haven’t flown for months. It’s been that long DJI signed me out of the app on my phone and my drone… think it’s time I find some places to get out and have a play
The weather here in Scotland has been awful for weeks/months, certainly since the start of the month when I bought the Avata 2 and Neo. I’ve been gagging at the bit to get out with the new toys and this weekend looked to be it.
I dutifully charged my Mini 3, Avata 2, Neo, Osmo Action 4, Insta360 X3 and a couple of powerbanks. With having the new car I wanted a run over to St Andrews and Kingsbarns, about an hour from me.
Leaving the house the weather was still and sunny and I had a great time on the country roads. Until I parked up at Kingsbarns beach and the wind nearly took the door off its hinges.
At least I had an amazing three scoop gelato tub from Jannettas in St Andrews. Fife Raspberry Sorbet, Lemon Pudding and Coconut were my choices.
