Not claiming this. Obviously a gps glitch

Rapid. What’s that work out at?

Glitch due to lack of sats?

Yes, to get an accurate position lock you need at least 6, when flying, pitching and roll, you can get sats dropping below that minimum limit
IMHO, and I’ll tag the mods in this @GADC_Committee, I think to claim a speed record we need to see the video recording with at least 8 sats for the time the record speed was flown.
So sorry @notveryprettyboy I’d not accept this :grinning::grinning:

Same as mine when I got this:

All new to me Steve.
But yeah that makes sense.

What gps module do you have?
I’m finding mines 9/10 sats quickly some days then others it takes a while.

I’ve got rescue activated to can only launch once 6 sats achieved

Its a bn180, though @Steviegeek has given me a newer tbs one to try. My shark byte knocks it out sometimes.

That’s what I’ve got. I’m about to order a better one. Maybe 220 or 280

The 220 is just as bad as the 180. Trick is is to have it away from the vtx and antenna. My 7" struggles for sats cos its near the antenna over 1000mw. I’m going to move it and test it.
I was a mile out and my return to home arrow disappeared

Seen a lot about shielding and have some copper tape so will try that.

Seen a few YouTube videos that seem to suggest that makes quite a difference.

1 Mile out would have been a proper brown trouser moment

Just tried this and added some copper tape around the wires to the gps.
Had a lock within a min and 10 sats in 2 mins - a huge improvement on previous flights.
Definitely worth a try @notveryprettyboy if you haven’t already.

Don’t talk to me about shielding

:joy:

I’ve just found this site and thought I’d upload a run I did in January as part of a project to build a speed drone. The fastest speed was 82.86 m/s. It says that i cant upload the GPS file here but I can upload the graph of the speed versus time for that run which I took from the gps file
