I did the courtesy of asking Brightlingsea Town Council (Essex coast) about flying my Mini 2 from their waterfront and received the following enlightened reply from the town clerk: how refreshing to liaise with a council that knows the current legislation.
" I have checked with the Mayor and Grounds Manager, and have been advised of the following:-
“So long as the drone meets the requirements of the CAA this should not be a problem, this is called Category A1 which is up to 250g.”
She then sets out a summary of the relevant rules, and adds:
“Thank you for taking the time to ask for permission.”
