TOAL from thames riverside walk near the O2. need to unlock the DJI london city restriction
That exact location according to Altitude Angel is a narrow corridor of a CTR. Why do DJI class it as an authorisation zone?
Because they make shit up.
I was told by a chap from phantom flight school it is because the DJI zones do not exactly match our zones and it is a problem everywhere hence the need to remove the DJI flight restriction
They certainly don’t because DJI have invented this blue authorisation circle which also covers London City CTR.
See the DJI map below…
@milkmanchris is correct when he said they make shit up.
I did the Iconic London trip earlier this year with Phantom Flight School and a few days ago I did the night version with them, photos to follow when finished. I thoroughly recommend them as them have found some really good spots to fly and they make sure that all necessary parties have been contacted as courtesy.
Sorry to sidetrack a bit, but interested to know more about the Phantom Flight School day. In my job I work with a lot of buildings in London including some in your picture Gdad 1950. We , wife and I , are starting a Drone business and wonder if this day might be of value Jennyb ?
I think it is money well spent. Not just because of the photography but they provided lots of info about planning permissions useful apps and other planning tools. I assume you have a GVC or equivalent to operate commercially
Yes we have, but our Operational Authorisation has lapsed, need to get that renewed. Did not read your article properly, see that you also were on the Phantom Flight School day. Think one of us will go.
