You’re right it’s looking a bit windy tomorrow. Are you sure?
Absolutely.
I’ll DM ..
Cool.
I couldn’t even throw a ball that high let alone a rope!!
It’s just too high!
I did DM you earlier @Nikonitis Patrick offering to come & help if you needed but as Dave has offered & can probaly get to you quicker I’ll leave you guys to it best of luck
Good luck with this drone rescue. If it is not damaged you may even get away with not having to send it off.
I thought exactly the same
Got to love a drone recovery team-up!
Obviously it’s a pain to lose a drone but DJI Refresh isn’t designed to protect consumers from every conceivable cockup - especially one of their own making - if the drone cannot be returned to them, they’ll of course charge you more as nothing in it can be salvaged/refurbished (see below). No idea what you did (nor did you say) but forgetting to turn Sport mode off once you’ve taken photos or video is one of my more common ‘issues’… and whilst obstacle avoidance is good, it’s not perfect as almost all tutorial videos explain. That looks like a MASSIVE tree in wide open space … but I’m not speculating! Hopefully you learnt something here and sort it👍
Are you guys planning this rescue op thing for thursday 17th?
Forgive my ignorance here, but my first thought was, if i had a friend with a drone, could we manufacture some sort of hook system and retrieve that from the tree? Possible?
I think ozonevibe mentioned something about it.
I’ve had the same thought but my concern would be snaring the resuce drone at the same time.
I did go on to consider some sort of ‘drop mechanism’ to allow the rescue drone to drop its line but couldnt really see that working out.
how about a mantis claw?
In amongst the branches, twigs and leaves if that tree, I think you’d need a drone that can lift the tree out of the ground. Little chance of getting a hook in amongst all that with clean access to the drone.
It may already have been shaken out of the tree in last night’s, and today’s, wind.
Yup. Tomorrow afternoon.
Squirt me some details?
Ill see if i can pop along… assuming you’ll bring that sexy redhead with you…
I should have called her Amex (or whichever card the ad was) ..
