Chatsworth House

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

Googled, “Can I Fly At Chatsworth House”?

This is what I found.

From my interpretation, as long as I do not take off or land on the estate, it’s OK?

It states not from the premises unless with authorisation , so TOAL off the premises , also seeings you have or are using sub 250g drone you should find an easier spot to TOAL ,

Just do your other checks on drone scene to make sure there are no restrictions like FRZ or no fly zone etc , I’m sure your good to go .

Checked Drone Scene, Yellow Area indicating Park.

Their is a Public Highway that runs through the Estate

So should be no issue with TOAL?

I might ask for permission as I do supply equipment to them, don’t want to burn my bridges!

You can do as you have a connection already with them if that’ll make you feel more at ease

Yellow as I’m sure you have read , public or gatherings or my raise security concerns , isn’t really a big of a deal as far as I’m aware it’s just giving you the heads up or to be cautious !

Someone has already flown there and added to Drone Scene. They have added info about parking.

There are no restrictions on Drone Scene for this area. Especially being a sub 250g drone, you can take off from outside the boundary and flyover.

Chatsworth is a private estate that has public paths running through it (I recall having a hard time during a circular walk in the peaks accessing a pathway through Chatsworth during a fair they had on… managed to pursuade the security to let us through). You might want to check the Bylaws of the Peaks here before you commit.

Good luck!

Byelaws can only control very specific things. They cannot apply to airspace, which is controlled by the CAA.

Well aware of this and totally agree, but the Estate is massive and nearest TOAL [B6012 is about 800m from the house] that doesn’t fall within the the Chatsworth Settlement that is controlled by the Chatsworth House Trust, (ie concessionary footpaths in Chatsworth Park and the surrounding woodland) are realistically beyond useful VLOS; for me anyway.

If I recall the Bylaw actually refers to the Peak District area in general and not the estate specifically and as such was just a cautionary note to consider. Notwithstanding all this, judging by the number of YT videos conducted in the area with virtually no Drone Scene entries, I’m guessing most people go about their business in an inconspicuous manner

I’ve been looking back at this post. Did you ever come up with a conclusion if you could TOAL on a public highway in the estate (perhaps at Edensor for a wide view) and not be intrusive if that was okay?
