Chernobyl Drone Flying Trip 2023

Can’t wait to see your take on that shot Steve @McSteamy2010 :+1: :+1:

Is as far as that sentence should go. :joy:

I would never personally fly with them.

From Manchester or probably elsewhere I would use KLM, Swiss, AF, or KLM with a stop.

https://flights.google.com is the best way to search for flights.

I’ll just leave this here! :smirk:

Do you have a readable version? :expressionless:

edit: Thank you

I’ve spoken to SWMBO and it’s a tentaive yes from me. She did say ‘and what the hell am I supposed to do while you’re away?’… I said ‘the same as I did when you fucked off to Greece with your mates in 2019’

PS… I had Corn Flakes for dinner last night :frowning:

This has been going on for 30 years. I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. It’s only gained the West’s attention recently. Besides this refers to the very East tip of Ukraine, on the border with Russia (in red below). Basically, they want it back, since it swapped hands in '91.

And don’t forget, Ukraine is almost 3 times the size of the UK, so Kiev is a very long way from this area, about 700km, equivalent to the distance between London and Inverness.

how much roughly for the whole trip? will have tto start saving now and sweett taalk the misses haha

Looking at various options over the last few weeks I’d say the trip its self including what’s on the table in the first post Around £700 - £800 But your going to need beer and food money.

I’d say no more than a £1000 all in will get you a really good time and what’s more, we’ll be with a fantastic group of like minded folk, can’t put a price on that! :star_struck:

That price is including a Grey Arrows hat for the Chernobyl Group Photo.

Whoah there. I paid for mine. Do I get a refund :wink:

Pricing is only an estimate, more accurate pricing once we’ve got the numbers together. :+1:

Stuff in Ukraine is dirt cheap. Kiev is the most expensive, but still cheap compared to the UK.

I got married out there and paid for £3K for the entire wedding, which included:

  • Registry office, paperwork, certificates, fees
  • All flowers, decoration, etc
  • Professional photographer + DVD with all content
  • Mercedes wedding car (1 hour trip, 2 way)
  • 5 course meal in a swanky restaurant for 40 guests
  • Overnight stay in a 5* hotel
  • 96 litres of beer
  • 24 bottles of red wine
  • 24 bottles of white wine
  • 24 bottles of champagne
  • 40 litres of vodka

A load of drink was left, they shipped this back to me in the UK on a pallet

Sounds better :joy: :joy:

I’d risk the 1* hotel with the 5* ‘escort’ over the alternative ;o)

Steve @McSteamy2010 your sacked :joy:

Chris @clinkadink you are our new Tour Operator :grinning:

Family of lightweights if 40 of you had a pallet full left ;o)

It certainly didn’t feel that way the morning after

Sadly it wasn’t a pallet “full”, but a pallet was required  And doing the maths, even if each person had a litre of vodka, that would still leave 168 bottles of wine, champagne and beer
