Commercial public liability insurance

Hi all

I am really wary about posting the same question on forums but I don’t seem to be able to find an up-to-date or relevant answer from my searches. I’m now going in circles chasing my own tail!

I am gaining interest within my community for photographs and videos using my drone. People are showing interest in buying photos, and this would then mean I’ve crossed over into the dark side- commercial operations.

I now want to insure but the quotes coming in are steep.

Has anyone bought commercial third-party liability drone insurance, if so, can you please direct me to a reasonably priced option? The cheapest I’ve seen so far is £181.
I want to charge people for a photo of their own property, possibly roof inspections, or estate agent work. If I’m hired and start receiving cash I do not want to break any rules but at these prices, it’s not viable when the work will be very sporadic and tentative at first.

The drone used will be the Mini 3.

Thanks in advance. Steve

Thanks @PingSpike that’s very interesting and will serve my purpose if & when I attract a customer

Ad-hoc cover is more expensive per job, but it’ll help with the cash flow situation while you’re starting up

Coverdrone do liability insurance for £4.10 a day. If you are only needing it occasionally and don’t want accident cover for drone. This is ideal.

Hi David thanks I’d already got their quote. Nearer to £9/day now with £5M cover

I think £5M is overkill but I asked for worst case scenario for corporate clients

Not really, a lot of companies may well ask for more.
