Contact details in the event of lost drone

I don’t know where you heard that @Latawiec but it is not correct.

From 30th November the following applies:

All drones and model aircraft will need to be labelled with the operator’s unique ID number.

Source: https://dronesafe.uk/registration/

This thread is about the contact details in case of lost drone. I never mention anything about registration markings required by the law.
If you fly within VLOS you don’t need put your name and phone number on the drone, or any notes about reward. Simple as that.

Explain why not?

I think I’d have to disagree with that yes your not required by law to provide contact details but I think you’d be silly not to, and you can easily fly VLOS and still lose your drone like mentioned already, like flying over a large forest etc.

If I’m spending over £1,000 on a drone and accessories I’d want to do everything I could to potentially recover it in the event of a crash or flyaway. Details being one of those things.
