Controller, goggles and drone compatability

I’m confused with the names for the differing remotes, Rc, RC-N1 and so on. Simply put can the remote from my Air 2 be used to fly my mini 3 pro.
I know the Air2 cannot be flown with the Mini 3 pro controller.
(not particularly impressed with the mini controller input compared to iPhone input)

I did start to put together a compatibility chart - until I got to a point where I was getting uncertain.

Best thing is to look at the controller on the DJI site where they list all models each is compatible with.

Heliguy has a simple list …

RC … Which drones are compatible with the DJI RC smart controller? – heliguy™

The DJI RC smart controller is compatible with:

  • DJI Mini 3 Pro
  • DJI Mini 3
  • DJI Mavic 3 Pro
  • DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine
  • DJI Mavic 3
  • DJI Mavic 3 Classic
  • DJI Mavic 3 Cine
  • DJI Air 2S

RC-N1 What drones are the DJI RCN1 & RC231 compatible with? – heliguy™

DJI RCN1 & DJI RC231 are compatible with the following DJI drones:
(They are the same controller with different labelling for flight modes.)

  • DJI Mavic 3
  • DJI Mini 3 Pro
  • DJI Mini 2
  • DJI Air 2S
  • DJI Mavic Air 2

Found this (which I’ve extracted from … Which DJI remote control for which drone? Compatibilities)

@OzoneVibe Dave
Cheers buddy, but i’m still non the wiser, what controller i have with my Air 2. I’ve searched all over it for a model number without success

DJI Air 2 specs (link) says RC-N1.

Chances are the app tells you the RC that’s being used.

@OzoneVibe
That link goes to an Air 3

No it doesn’t …

https://www.dji.com/uk/mavic-air-2/specs

DEFINITELY the Air 2.

Found it!

Goes here for me

Close that Air 3 popup window with the X top right.

Anyway - that chart above lists only the RC-N1 and the Smart Controller for the Air 2. You’d know if you had the SC - ergo, RC-N1.

Yes you’re right, you’re dealing with a pillock!

Seems like mine’s an RC-231

Which is also named RC-N1

I have a Mini 2, and mine is definitely an RC-N1, but its labelled RC-231, so its definitely an RC-N1 that you have

So, I can fly the Mini 3 pro with the Air 2 (RC-231) controller but,

Cannot fly the Air 2 with the Mini 3 pro remote (RC)?

Did you not look at the posts I made from Heliguy?

:man_shrugging:

Of course I read it, I was just confirming that’s all.

Thank you

Mine is orange and has four bits that stick out of each corner and it make a buzzing sound as it goes up
In the air then a crashing sound when it comes down. Lighten up,

My RC will control my Air 2S, and the RC-N1 from the Air 2 will control the Air 2S (and the other way round), so I’m thinking the RC from the Mini 3 Pro will work the Air 2.
