Could someone 3D print something for me please?

Now then!

I am looking for a housing, one like this:

Light Barrier

Its to hold a barometer

Its also a light barrier, but I don’t want the hole in the top, but one of the holes in the side to go all the way through, to run the 4 wires

Also, I would need a top/cover, just a flat disc of the same diameter, to seal it once the barometer is inside

The link

Let me know the cost and postage and your price of ale :+1:

Cheers,
Wayne.

Link doesn’t work, it might be better if you do a simple dimensioned sketch; I have a small amount of PLA left that I need to use up on small prints.

If you provide a sketch I’ll print it out for you…

Sorry, I tried to use a Onedrive link and it failed!!

This one should work! :crossed_fingers:

I followed the link but access denied?

“just hand sketch it, scan it, upload it here” it doesn’t have to be a work of art, I just need the dimensions i.e. Diameter, depth, number of holes and how wide you want the holes.

It looks like it has an inner ring wall which I take works as an air buffer? Is there a top view you can upload?

3rd time lucky :joy:

Got it, just looking at it in the slice right now.

The hole you want to go through, do you want it all the way through to the other side of the outer body or just through the inner ring?

Just through to the inner ring so the wires can pass from the inside to the outside. The idea of it, is so the barometer will get the air pressure but is not affected by the light as the light has no direct line to the centre

OK…

I’ll start the print shortly, but unfortunately Autodesk is unable to pick up the inner wall, if you have a set of small drill bits "2mm"you can simply drill out the hole.

Yes I could add the holes after, it’s not a problem, thanks for doing this much appreciated :+1:

let me know the costs

No worries, it’s printing now, looks like a 45min print time, I’ll let you know the cost as soon as I put it in a jiffy bag and test it through the letter box otherwise just what you think is reasonable…

“Done” Hot off the bed, just need to measure for the lid…

All done…

One thing we didn’t consider, which is whether the lid is an outer overlap or inner plug so as to be flash with the top…

I drilled out one hole straight through the inner wall for you.

The lid looks perfect as it seals the whole housing, I will message you

Thanks Again.

I’m just printing an inner with a lip, I’ll include it so you have a choice of two types.

The jiffy bag fits through the letter box, we’ll see if it fits the post office one, I’ll post tomorrow.

The other type lid…

The filament has absorbed moisture hence the lines, it’s functional.

Posted this morning first class, thanks for the :beers:
