Crystalsky no maps in DJI GO3

Hi ppl

I have bought a DJI inspire 1 with a crystalsky and the maps don’t work in DJI go with mapbox. Which I believe has been discontinued on the DJI go app!

So my question is, can you get maps on the DJI go app?

I have tried DJI pilot which works but I’m getting connection issues and I know that it’s not meant for inspire 1 but it connected, thought it would work.

Tried downloading Google maps with no joy, even tried downloading it through apkpure and no joy.

Any help please, I have a drone I can’t fly  well can fly just without maps

I’ve used Go4 for 8 years .. never been connected to the internet when flying (SIM-less drone phone) and never had maps.

It’s never stopped me flying - UK, France, Italy, Switzerland …

Litchi is an alternative app that may suit you .. but not free. (Nor expensive.)

I have tried the go4 and mine doesn’t connect to the app.

I have looked at litchi but can’t download it because I can only get it via Amazon app and the Amazon app won’t let me download it because as from August 25 they shutting the app down.

I was really meaning that having the map doesn’t mean you can’t fly … as in ..

You still get a “map” with no information - so relative location and orientation is still shown, and I’ve found this more than adequate.

Also - have a look at this thread .. Maps on CrystalSky .. it may be of help.

If Litchi’s posted method (via Amazon app store) is no longer viable, I’d reach out to Litchi and see if they can help.

Wrong choice of words  I can fly it fine, I would like maps on there.

Thank you for your help

I can’t download offline maps as there is no option for that in the menu and go 4 doesn’t work with my inspire 1

UPDATE!!!
Been in touch with DJI and they went through a few things including a full reset, which did nothing and now they have put me through a repair process because they said it could be a hardware issue.

Indeed it won’t.

I don’t know how many years ago the GO3 app went end of life, but it’s a lot

If memory serves, DJI just didn’t bother renewing their licence key back then, so it died a death.

As above, I’m not sure what you need a map for? The lack of a map won’t affect your flying

If you root your CS you can side load Litchi (assuming you have the app?): How to root your DJI CrystalSky / Phantom GL300E monitor and gain SuperUser / SU access with some easy hacks

The lack of a map loading won’t be / can’t be a hardware issue.

How is your CS connected to the internet?

When you looked at the map and saw nothing, was the drone connected and locked on with solid GPS at the time?

Like i said a wrong choice of words, as i’m aware it wont affect my flying.

i know its them worming their way out of it and it probably would get lost even if i did send it back

the internet was solid and had about 18 satellites connected
