Ach, my pile of silicon is at least 8 yrs old now ( if not older) Put a SSD drive in it early this year after cloning the HDD drive and although it now boots within 10 secs of hitting the start button, it’s “old hat” by modern day standards. I think the time to upgrade is fast coming. Win 10 support is coming to an end soon ( this computer won’t upgrade to Win 11) so I reckon it’s time to retire this one
My laptop may be 64bit - but it’s also over 8 years old tech. I survive.
Tbh nowt wrong with 18. Yeah 19 a little better but…
The only change I have noticed with version 18 is the upload to YouTube is now a lot faster than before
@JockyB Did you mean ver 19 John?
Nah Colin, my computer is only a 32bit. Version 19 only runs on 64bit computers. Version 18’s last update did speed uploads to YouTube considerably
Cool. I used 18 but noticed an improvement in the speed of rendering when I upgraded to 19 beta free version. I think it uses the accelerater card GPU more than it did with the 18 ver as it runs smoother in full 4k playback too.
Seems to be uploading to YouTube as it’s being rendered now. Before it used to render the video completely before uploading.

Windows 10 …
Bit up against it today - haven’t got time to watch all the release vids - does anyone know if we can edit 10-bit D-Log footage in the free version yet, which notably didn’t work in 18.6 ?
I doubt it. Can’t recall seeing anything specific in 19 Beta updates.
It’s probably easier/quicker to install this latest Beta version and find out than it is to read all the updates and watch all the videos.
Thanks. Ah well, I suspected as much, but hope springs eternal…
I’ve had zero issues with the 19 Beta, even on an old mid-range laptop, so probably worth installing anyway.
You only gain things, you don’t lose anything.
@AeroJ Sorry Jay, You can edit a Dlog-m clip(s) in DR but only as 8 bit files in the free version. Full 10 bit is available in DR Studio.
I stopped using Dlog files because of the above and TBH, I actually prefer the DJI normal mode as less buggering about and for YouTube plenty good enough.
@D0c.Col I’m actually with you 100% there. For a while I put up with converting my D-Log H.265 files down to H.264’s but quickly realised that the result I was getting was not superior to Normal mode, and actually the grading you need to do in Normal mode is considerably less, and well within the regular gamut of 8-bit colour ! I still have a satisfying range to play with in shadows, mid-tones and highlights, so lack of 10-bit isn’t stressing me much.
I think it’s probably only one more version of DVR to wait for until we get 10-bit in the free version, but until then I am not even slightly unhappy with what’s coming out of my editor ! It’s not that I begrudge Black Magic the cash - heaven knows it is exceptionally reasonably priced software for the power it offers, but I’ve been spending rather a lot in the software department recently (damned virtual instruments to help me write my video soundtracks), so remain grateful that the free version is as good as it is ! I was surprised they allowed us 4K at bitrates as high as we can get them to be honest ! They’re definitely the ‘good guys’; kinda like the diametric opposite of Adobe !!
I know the D-log guys will probably disagree with us, but heyho!
