Derwentwater - Added to Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

It should be noted that at the North end of the lake there maybe hanglider activity between 08.00-17.00 on a Saturday and Sunday

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 09/10/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I want to fly here @ChrisM, but there are no parking or take off and landing markers. Would you be able to add some to the map please?

Hi @ChrisM or @Bloxy, the marker is on the foreshore of Crow Park. Isn’t that considered National Trust and therefore illegal for TOAL? I’m visiting in July and would love to get some shots of Derwent Water but equally don’t want to run foul of the law! I’m flying a Mini 3 Pro. Many thanks / Ian

Hi Scaleber
Take a look at the NT land map and zoom in. There is a sliver of land adjacent to a small peninsular abutting Hope Park that is not NT owned. If you take a tape measure you should be ok to fly.
I’ve flown from this location a number of times and there has been no one remotely interested in what I was doing.

Brilliant! Hadn’t thought of checking the NT map. Many thanks / Ian

I’ve flown here too @ChrisM

I want to fly here @ChrisM, have you got any other tips or advice?
