DJI Air 3 - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion

I always thought that about the screens, but once you’ve used one you realise anything bigger is pointless, these are just the right size in my opinion

It’s 700nits Scott, same as its predecessor RC model.

I get that but if you haven’t had one before it’s hard to compare , I’m old and nits used to be something kids got at school lol . At least this one doesn’t appear to have all the problems the mini 3 pro has ( hopefully )

Yes 700 nits, my S23 will go to double of that, but not all the time, I love having my mobile available if needed, and have never really worried about the screen size, all the screen items are spread far better than they used to be, I only bought the Mavic 3 for the Way Point feature, I love using that, so when I heard the Air 3 was getting it, it was a no brainer

Well I just sadly and with heavy heart sold my Mavic 2 pro , I loved that drone but I had to go while it still held value , I have the air2s and that’s excellent but I have space for 1 more , I wouldn’t have the mini 3 pro if it was free so it’s down to the air 3 , Mavic 3 or Autel but I really appreciate your thoughts on the air 3 . Hopefully @ianinlondon will get some nice weather and time so we can see how it does.

I am seeing a lot saying the final results are better than the Mavic 3 Pro and some are changing their daily flyer, DJI have certainly made it easier to get up and flying, I first thought it was expensive against the Air 2S, but then it has the better battery life, charger and twin cameras, but also the RC Screen comparted to the older basic controller, good luck with whatever you choose, I had the Air 2S and always thought it was loud, this is a lot quieter, thus the C1 classification on the body less than 81DB

What issues are they?

Flown 198 km with the Mini 3 Pro and had zero issues.

Unless I have been lucky?

It was the problems with signal loss , signal strength and signal quality , ok I know most bought the hack but hardly very inspiring for a new drone and that was what put me off it , I get some owners love it and maybe when the mini 4 comes out I might look at that but I don’t really have any need to be sub 250grms where I fly and personally I prefer the heavier drone that can handle the wind better .

Thanks to @ianinlondon :+1: Any speed test yet? I managed 67.81 mph in Atti

Totally agree with the ascent/descent speeds. Man, it is quick.

Yes it’s quick like :poop: of a stick

Am I missing a trick here to get it into ATTI mode…?

How do I get it into cruse control with rc2

I think you have to assign it to one of the C buttons.

  1. In the DJI Fly app, select the three-dot icon on the top-right-hand side.
  2. On the top navigation bar, scroll to the second option: ‘Control.’
  3. Scroll down to ‘Button Customization.’
  4. On the top, you’ll see scroll-down menus for the customizable ‘C1’ and ‘C2’ buttons that, in this example using the DJI RC remote, can be found on the back of the remote.
  5. Select ‘Cruise Control’ and exit the menu.

Ian you must be reading my mind  I’m sorted now cruse control working

I use Drone Hacks desktop app, select advanced parameters, select fswitch0, change value from 12 to 3, write parameters back to drone and exit. This assigns atti to where cine is on the move switch.
