DJI Drones to be banned in the USA - Countering CCP Drones Act (HR 2864)

Still cant get over the fact that out of all the colours on this planet they went for that green. What the hell.

And Plastidip Green at that :see_no_evil:

BEIJING, July 31 (Reuters) - China will amend drone export controls from Sept.1, including adding high-precision measurement equipment to the control list and adjusting standards for some unmanned aircraft components.

Not only the US Defence Department. I was informed by a relative that her husband, who upon applying to join the Canadian Mounted Police, was grilled by Canadian security about the political stance of his brother-in-law (me!) before his application was approved. I can only assume I came to the notice of British Security when my photo appeared in the local press chairing a protest meeting against youth unemployment as unemployment hit the 1 million mark in 1963 & they took note, passing that onto Canadian Security 20 years later. Democracy? Big Brother is watching you!

I came to the notice of them once via guilt by association. I took the case to the Investigatory Powers Tribunal over 20 years ago after it was flagged in a position I was applying for. Never be afraid to challenge Big Brother. :+1:

The bill has now passed the house to ban DJI in the US & now has to be approved by the senate,

“Yellow Peril”? I hope that was tongue in cheek. The Chinese people remember it was Western sources that introduced the scourge of opium into China in the 19th century in order to make the populace compliant & more easy to control by the growing imposition of Western business interests at that time. They also suffered millions of deaths at the hands of the Imperial Japanese Army in the 1930’s while Western powers sat on their hands at the League of Nations doing nothing to stop the slaughter until the US was attacked at Pearl Harbour years later on December 7th 1941.
As for the IRA, perhaps Hitler would’ve called us terrorists if we’d have fought back against a Nazi invasion in 1940 in a similar way that the Irish fought back against the English monarchy’s colonialist invasion of Ireland, culminating in encouraging tens of thousands of Protestant border Scots & northern English “settlers” in Ulster in the early 17th century, and the resultant problems that brought about “The Troubles” of recent decades which are now just being addressed.
You seem to be an educated chap, perhaps you should read up on the true facts of history before regurgitating headlines from the “Daily Fail”, eh? If the present Chinese government (for all its faults) has succeeded in lifting hundreds of millions of its people out of poverty, it’s been through hard work, innovation & expertise as DJI has proved.

I see in the US that DJI will be removing the flight logs from their servers. It seem’s our fav data site AirData has a plan for flight logs for Android devices using Google ( I guess Google Drive maybe ) to assist in having the flight data on their site for people to use as an alternative.

Wonder if it will ever come to iOS and other markets outside of the US for people to have a choice about where their data goes.

Thankfully, will not affect us unless we go to the USA.

yeah hopefully the nonsense that is happening in the US doesn’t hit us here but it would be nice for us to have a choice of where our data goes and is handled so an option like this could benefit all

A short update maybe worth a watch,
