I went out last night running 1.4.4 on my Samsung android phone. One complete screen-freeze where the image got frozen but controls were ok (had to land and reboot everything), and one black screen where the app crashed and then restarted.
I did at least get some cracking photos:
I’ll put 1.4.8 on the phone, but any suggestions on how to optimise the performance? I couldn’t find anthing useful in the phone settings.
Or alternatively I’m happy to downgrade to the last working version if somebody has a copy of the apk file.
I have power saving mode turned off entirely and CPU speed limit also turned off
I need to try on my Huawei when I get a moment and then if it’s just the phone that’s a problem, I’ll probably downgrade to an earlier version of DJI Fly. I prefer using the phone for city centre flights so I can set up and pack away quicker.
The latest version 1.4.8 works fine on my Huwawei media pad. Ive had issues with it in the past, but the latest version seems good.
But for them quick up and down flights, I want to use my phone, an Honor 10. Crashes every two minutes. Today, after restarting it 3 times, it comes on but no camera view. Absolute garbage.
And the most frustrating thing is, I have reinstalled 1.2.4 on that phone, I have the apk saved on it, but despite changing the settings to stop it updating, it manages to upgrade to the latest.
Hi Andy I had that problem with it updating unasked and impossible to stop on my Huawei tablet. It seemed to download the update somewhere and update when fly next launched. I assumed it was in the G05 folder and deleted that but if wifi was enabled down it came again and installed on next launch. So I had to do that each time, ridiculous, and not practical on a phone. For the tablet when tethering off the phone it did not download the update, only if on home wifi. If we could figure out why that is…or any way to take back (some) control of our devices!
Yes, its crazy. Last time I downgraded it, i removed everything manually with a file explorer app.
You have to enable network to sign in to the app, so i did that, and turned it off again straight away, so network was only on for say 30 seconds.
I then disabled the updates using the option in the settings menu, only to find 3 days later when I used it next, its updated itself again!
I guess the only way to stop it would be to never turn connectivity back on the phone after ive downgraded it, and signed in
Not sure what other implications that might have
Use the options in the DJI settings menu and then go to the Huawei AppGallery, go to me, settings and then turn off Auto-Update apps
Its the Huawei App Manager that is updating the DJI app in the background, I am back to 1.4.0 and it’s not auto-updated using the above method on my Media pad M5
Thank you…that should work now, i had never really looked properly at what the app gallery is or does…ive deleted the install package for 1.4.8, disabled updates, and re installed 1.2.4 which i think was the last known working one for me.
Thanks sparkyws,
However I do not have the Huawei Appgallery on this machine (it is running emui 9.1.0 and is model SHT -W09.) so that could not have been updating it? Whatever I have done it now only notifies me an update is available which I can decline. When I get home I can try it on my home wifi and see.
