LOL they can already be pre ordered on Hobbymounts website…
McMavic
If i eat this berger, does it mean i can fly as am???
It had to be a McD’s product.
Want to know why?
Because it’s a Mini, not a Whopper. #BadumTish
Cash now spent @stevesb?
Hmm, thinking if I should sell my MP and get this as I hardly fly it. Can I give up Occusync though?
Never liked the DJI controllers that didn’t have a display neither. Hmm…
If that much technology can be packed into a drone that size and they become more and more popular. Would they consider changing the drone rules so these need registration too?
Yes I’m pretty sure that the rules would change so that drones such as the mavic mini would have to be registered with the CAA. Please note that with the prop guards on the mavic mini would have to be registered because they take the weight of the drone up to 250 grams anyway!
I’m guessing the non-registration rules are for drones weighing less than 250grams before adding any accessories.
So adding weight by attaching accessories wouldn’t matter.
Some one in the know could shed some light on this…
Yes that’s correct
So, was I the first person to order this? The store updated its pages around 5 minutes before launch time… Purchased at 12:57 and paid by 12:59
The current leader!
Lol… I almost feel like a made a false start on the 100 metres hurdles…
Sorry to be the harbinger of doom (my wife’s pet name for me) but the 250g limit come June 2020 might be irrelevant.

Flyaway #1?
I think you beat me to the basket by about 30 seconds @ianinlondon but then I overtook you at the checkout and legged it out of there by about 90 seconds
I don’t think many people will be buying the Mini purely to avoid registration, so hopefully not an issue
What happened @colinbm ??
Admittedly, I wont be adding to my Drone garage but I have to say that having dismissed it initially based on the photo leaks as it looked nothing more than a toy.
It doesnt seem like a bad little 249g drone. Im hearing 27mins (ish) flight time too?! (is that right?) 12mp camera, 2.7k vid. 3 axis gimbal. It is running with the Advanced Wifi connection, albeit an improved version by all accounts.
A nice first drone would you say?
The only slight disappointment imo, is that this is a new drone that doesnt work with the smart controller. Bizarre (if not a surprise) that DJI are releasing new gear that doesnt work with their leading controller. Could see this Mini as a useful companion drone for some users who already own the Mav2 and SC. As the SC can now manage all Mav 2’s in 1 box it seems a missed opportunity.
@sunstone I’ve moved your post over to the existing discussion.
