When I’m flying away from the RC with the mini 2 directly in front of me, the drone only turns 45 degrees when I initiate return to home and not the full 180.
I have the latest firmware installed and have correctly calibrated both the IMU and compass.
I fly either with an iPhone X or an iPad 5th generation. Both have compass calibration enabled.
I have also noticed that the RTH location is quite a way off from the home point when landing.
I do fly in a densely populated area and wonder if Wi-Fi interference etc might be causing this issue.
Any thoughts/help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
How many satellites do you have prior to take off ??
Usually anything between 15 and 20 satellites.
Has it given you the message ‘Homepoint updated’ before you takeoff ?
Yes, I always wait for the ‘Return to home has been updated etc’ message.
Thanks for this. I have watched it and chatted with The Roberts about this issue. Unfortunately, their tips didn’t help resolve the problem. Waiting to hear from DJI technical support.
Have you tried using another phone, maybe even an android one
That would rule out the app and the phone
I also recall this issue being mentioned before
I’ve also used an iPad 5th generation. Same issues when returning to home.
I was thinking you could try an Andriod device.
See what DJI come back with.
I would be tempted to refresh the firmware, just to see if that works
How do you refresh the firmware on a dji mini 2 please?
2 options, both windows based
Or you can use
And download the firmware from
Thanks. I use apple so I’ll have to find a windows pc
Parallels is your friend for this sort of thing
Thanks. I have a windows laptop at work I can use.
Thanks for the link. I have seen this video and contacted The Roberts. Unfortunately this didn’t help.
Problem solved! I increased the yaw speed settings from 10 to 30 and my mini 2 turned 180 degrees when return to home initiated and flew straight back to me.
