The air data link is to the first flight which was 6.25km.
Is the RC connected to your wifi (flying from the back garden) or tethered to your phone whilst flying?
I usually tether it to my phone whilst flying, I know the last update turns wifi and bluetooth off but I switch it back on and connect to the hotspot before flying.
The flights are prematurely updating to the server, this is the fix
Or don’t tether the RC
Thanks, I’ll not bother with the tethering on my next flight, see what happens. ![]()
FlyMore kit arrived today from Very.
I’m quite chuffed with the service if I’m honest.
@wpbooth Paul I also asked if my fly more kit could be expedited and it looks like DJI listened
@alexmciver Brilliant news!
Excellent, I must confess I didn’t have high expectations on them doing what they said it terms of expediting the order for me but they did so credit to them for cutting down our wait. Mine arrived exactly on time with the carrier. I guess they just shipped direct from EU instead of China. Glad they sorted it for you too.
I assume you can’t use the air data app on the DJI RC to bypass the DJI servers like you can on iPhone / Android?
That’s correct
So I guess just turn off sync for the flight duration then sync after is the solution as mentioned in your link. Thanks for posting it.
I wonder if DJI will allow app install at some point (on to the SD card).
I’ve not been following this thread closely enough but can you not install the Amazon App Store app on to the new controller, like you can on the CrystalSky and the original Smart Controller, then install any app you like from the Amazon app store?
From what I can gather, as I don’t own one…., yet ![]()
It’s totally locked down and only the fly app is installed ![]()
No way to side load either
Not even a web browser app? ![]()
It looks like the log syncing issue started on the 16th June for me, that is when the last firmware update was and this was the one that switched off wifi/bluetooth to improve function. My first flight on the 16th was OK, I then landed and noticed the firmware update and that’s when the problems started.
Same to be honest
Maybe in a future update? They could have added a sim slot to the DJI RC to make it totally stand alone in my view.
The cost of the additional radio hardware, regulatory/licensing fees, etc would make their budget drone not-so-budget ![]()
