I know exactly what you mean, Mick. First time I flew the Mini 4 I thought I had it in sport mode - could barely control the thing.
Iāve done all the gain and expo tuning and it is better, but itās still nowhere near as smooth as my other drones have been on similar settings.
I figured it must be down to the RC2 (Iād seen a few reviewers refer to it as quite a sensitive controller) and set about getting used to itā¦ but itās not been easy. Itās left me wondering how people who just got a Mini 4 for Christmas as their first drone have coped.
Edit to add that yes, for the āsensitive controllerā part, I have also played about with the stick sensitivity settings to try and reduce that
Have you guys tried the break setting for the obstacle avoidance? or like me, always go straight for the bypass option?
If the latter that will make it more jumpy, break seems to be a lot smoother. also, Bypass with niffty mode enabled gives more of a middle ground 
Will give it a go tomorrowā¦ but this is just the way it handles in clear open spaces with nothing to avoid so hopefully itās not that because I quite like the idea of the bypass option 
yeah, even in open space its jumpy while its set to bypass. Set it to break and itās a noticeable difference. I find Niffty mode is ok and you can tweak the smoothness settings to make it work if you want bypass mode.
Be worth testing though to see if it solves your issue

I spoke too soon. DJI has just billed me Ā£350 because the broken drone hasnāt arrived. Sent by UPS on the 23rd this is the tracking journey for itās tour of the UK so farā¦ Needless to say, they had all the customs paperwork they needed with the package and didnāt ever try to contact me when it says āWe are working to obtain this informationā - I only became aware of the issue when DJI first threatened to take the money.
When I contacted them, the only way for me to get the paperwork was to re-download the shipping label, which wasnāt possible because the item had shippedā¦ Luckily, I found a copy in the recycing that Iād accidentally printed double-sided back in December and re-printed. They confirmed in writing that they had everything they needed at 11 on Wednesday and the package still hasnāt gone anywhere.
How can anybody be so useless? And why do all the people who are that useless work for courier companies?

Just tested Atti, sadly, it didnāt work ā¦ it just switched to Cine 
The above hack has worked on every DJI drone I have had, including the Air 3 (despite it being limited to 68 mph).
I really hope DJI havenāt locked this down as well.
Going to make a change and try again after a full charge.
Apparently the latest DJI drones went switched back on reset the parameters back

On the older drones you can change parameters, but on the new drones, a lot of the parameters will reset back to stock upon boot up by DJI design.

OK, cool, I will rewrite the params, and with the drone still on, unplug the USB-C and switch on my RC2 and see if that bypasses this DJI sillyness.
