No, I was joking and others have answered now anyway.
Got this reply back today.
Maybe some member is a firefighter and can understand the MDS, it’s beyond me
Thank you for your enquiry.

We do not have any specific data regarding the use of the Fire Stick on fires with Lithium batteries?
From: Nicky Grist Motorsports <steve@stephenthorpe.co.uk>
Ah - thought you’d sent the question to the manufacturers, rather than the UK importer?
The manufacturer may have more specific information?
Nicky Grist is a motorsports person … amazingly good co-driver to Colin McRae … amongst other epic motorsports achievements.
duh… I did not know who the manufacturer was, I think somebody mentioned possibly from Germany ?
Cheers Steve
The link was in the same post as the UK importer - elementfire.com
Steviegeek, did you get the charger from Germany. Is it grounded? Looking at this but don’t want to phaff about having to solder wires, especially with just one eye, get burnt fingers !!
Hi, @Rafter
I did not go for the German one in the end, see later post. #10
Chose the Smatree one instead
Cheers
Steve
Hi Steve thanks for the reply. Been in touch with the company in Germany and asked them if the item was grounded. they said "Without further ado we checked the data sheet available for the product in question and unfortunately have to inform you that the manufacturer could not provide us with further technical details about this product, so we are unable to answer your enquiry.
We send our sincerest apologies for this.
So I told them how to check if it was grounded “as I didn’t want to get and electric shock” and they replied, wait for this !!! Hi there,
this device is equipped with a safety plug. It is impossible for you to get an electric shock !!!
Have you got a link for the Smatree one?
I’ve just found the link Steve. Is the one you’ve ordered similar to the orginal DJI, square shape. From looking at the specs for this, it appears that it only charges one battery at a time, not all at once.
Blithering idiots
I hope not, or I’ve dropped a bollock… I was going off this statement…
- The charging hub comes with a smart power IC, which allows charging 3 Mavic batteries at one time with 3 different currents.
It will automatically assign currents to 3 batteries in accordance with voltage, so the battery with higher voltage is given priority to a full charge. This hub is so intelligent that it greatly saves charging time for one Mavic battery.
I let you know when it arrives
The SMATREE charger arrived today.
Quick plug in shows that it does charge all threee batteries together, but not always continuous ? It seems to see hwich battery is lowest, gives that continuous charge and charges the other two on a stop/start basis
I suspect it is aiming to bring all to 100% at the same time.
I’ll do more testing to see what’s actually happening
see video here https://youtu.be/zp6THA5QgHs
Cheers Steve
Thanks for the latest Steve. Just seemed a bit strange as there is only one lead going from power supply to battery hub, although looking at the video it does seem that the batteries were charging. Would be interested in how long it takes as it seems to be working on the same principle as the original DJI hub. (charges battery with highest charge first…) All the 5 in 1 chargers charge individually and take about 70-90 mins.
Peter
This Smatree charger/hub is no different from the standard DJI hub, it does not charge simultaneously, only sequentially, like the DJI it starts charging the most charged pack first.
Manufacturer says the charge time is quicker than DJI, their claimed 140 mins (DJI 210 mins) for three batteries is not what I’ve just experienced, 176 mins, started from about 10%, they refer to 0% as the start of charge for their claim.
So nowhere near as good as they claim.
Batteries waiting to be charged have single LED flashing
Batteries fully charged have all LEDs off
The hub has individual LED’s, green when fully charged, red whilst charging/waiting
In a nutshell, I dropped a bollock when I bought this, now wish I’d chosen the 5in1 unit from Germany.
I might try to return it and get my money back
Cheers
Steve
Sorry to hear that Steve. . I was holding on to see what your results were, so I’ll see what the German one is like. Sorry it doesn’t help you but good luck with your return. Try “not as described”. Yours does say that it charges all the batteries at the same time but it’s a little bit of creative advertising. It might do then at the same time but not individually, like the 5 in 1’s do.
The Advanced DJI hub that Pingspike (in post*3 above) says it charges all the batteries simultaneously but I think this is also not correct.
Indeed, the Advanced Hub can charge three batteries simultaneously, not four
Still, better than one at a time.
Potentially an expensive option though if you don’t already have a 100w DJI charger from another drone (eg. Phantom). But if you do, it’s a cracking OEM solution
Rich, exactly how does the advanced charger work? From reading the spec, it seems to be the same as the original hub, charges one and then moves on to the next.
How long does it take to charge 3 x Mavic batteries?
Does it charge quicker, I already have the 100w power supply to charge my Crystalsky batteries, so it might be an option.
Peter
@PingSpike @Steviegeek Answered my own question, found this DJI Mavic Pro Charging Hub Teardown - What's The Difference Between Them? - YouTube
As I already have the Phantom 4 power, I think the “Advanced” hub might be the option for me, plus not having to deal with “dodgy” earths’s etc on the 5 in 1 units.
It also balances the batteries, which the 5 in 1’s don’t.
Anyone have one lying around
Update, just found one here for £30!!!
