DJI RC Pro 2 - General discussion

Can we start a specific thread on this New controller? Specifically who buys it and thoughts, and any chance of FCC hack!

Take it away

Don’t forget, it’s the drone you need to mod for FCC, not the controller.

It’ll be six months or more before the Mavic 4 Pro FCC hacks are available

If you’re looking to use the RC Pro 2 with FCC on the Mini 4 Pro or Air 3 / 3S, be sure to mod the drone first with a permanent-FCC hack.

Not always true, you can use Drone-Tweaks

Having basked in the 2000nits bright glow of the DJI CrystalSky and the Autel Smart Controllers for many a year, I can confirm that nothing else even comes close.

2000nits is so bright that you can literally wear sunglasses all day and still see the screen perfectly :sunglasses:

I don’t know why DJI moved away from it for so long, but I’m very pleased they brought it back.

Minor caveat, it’ll not run flat out at 2000, the specs say that after a while it’ll drop down to 1600nits-sustained. But regardless, 1600 is still crazy bright

Enjoy Andy mate

Had mine for 2 days now and it is awesome - really light weight, feels great ergonomically and that screen is so crystal clear and bright …

Gather it accepts other Android apps loaded to it? No HDMI out I suppose.

Goggles!..

For Goggles …. That’ll teach me for butting in

It says for live streaming, where lag isn’t important.

I’d imagine you’d need to find out what the lag is like for use with goggles?

Yes, true… Possibly also no OSD data? It does appear a great price for what it is given a comparison to Crystal Sky and the old RC Pro offerings. Looks a winner when it’s hacked

Which drone?

Is the drone list on your profile out of date?

Yes accepts other apps and it has full size HDMI out

Thinking a FCC hack like Drone Tweaks, where the fly app is modified on the controller. Does not involve hacking the Drone at all. Using it on my mini 4 pro and previously on my mini 3 Pro.

Look what arrived today…

Going to the Mavic 4 Pro experience event at DroneSafe Store tomorrow…this should help me decide if I’m going to go the whole hog and buy one or just use the RC Pro 2 with my Air 3.

Either way, it’s going to be great having the new controller to use at The Big Meet.

Decide? Decide what?

The only thing you need to decide is how you’re going to tell Angie that you just bought a Mavic 4 Pro

Don’t forget to use your GADC discount while you’re there

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy had loaded some video editing software onto it too and was basically using it like an iPad - so it seems it can take 3rd party apps.

Also works well with the Mini 4Pro - Air 3S even the flip the screen to change the Mini 4 Pro into portrait mode works too.

How does it perform with the Air 3 … very interested on your thoughts

Emailed Drone tweaks to see what the FCC position is with the RC Pro2.. Apparently there App will work on the controller given following procedure.
The app needs to be install on the phone and after with quick transfer you will be able to use the controller. This is bad news for me as a step closer to buying one. :sob:
