I had 3 put up . Carsington water. Linicar dam and ladybower dam .
So why didn’t you go to a Public path/road and fly from there, they cannot stop you doing that, surely?.
Fuck me!, it took a 6 tonne bomb to break the Dams in the Dambuster’s Raid !, what damage could a drone do !.
What he said.
Exactly . Well pointed out .
Well?.. get your arse up there and video the hell out of the Dams !.
Sound advice …
Your right .
I was on a beach yesterday in east Runton and couldn’t believe my eyes and glad I didn’t have the drone up at the time when a small 2 man James Bond looking helicopter was skimming about 10 feet above the water very close to the beach. Looked like this one. https://images.app.goo.gl/rtQmdvYaRxA9y1Cq6
That’s an autogyro.
You would have had more right to be there flying than him !.
Wonder if Local ATC knew what he was doing, I doubt it !
I’ve got a tourer caravan and more and more campsites are stating in their information packs that you get on arrival no drone flying, including Kelling Heath where we have just been staying. There is a view point on site where you can get a great sea view but I was soon pulled by security telling me I can’t fly here although they was quite polite about it. I suppose you have to appreciate the amount of toy drones on the market these day that are very hard to control and could be dangerous to fly near other people and could easily dent a caravan, I know my grandson has got one and it goes where it wants. The thing that gets me mad is how most people think they are used to spy on people in a perverted way like looking through bedroom windows and such when a DSLR camera is much more intrusive than a drone, but I put that down to ignorance. Most people I’ve spoke to are quite impressed with it especially when I show them some of the videos I have made, in fact one young couple that came up to talk said they are going straight to Argos to buy one even got it up on the Argos website to make sure it was the same one. To be honest I think it is the so called drone police that are helping to give us a bad reputation with the things they write, the Facebook group Mavic Pro owners group is full of them and can’t wait to pull someone up about their video. Thanks to you Shane on your recommendation I found the GADC who are a great bunch of people.
Can’t have been legal if you had seen, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing
Cheers Frank .
Yep got to agree with you on the GADC site .
No malice
No drone police
No ill will
No put downs .
Only positive feedback and encouragement .
It’s a keep for me ,
Just putting the latest one up …
Frank,
To many “do gooders” round here in Norfolk, I have flown around the area quite extensively over the last 5 years, and, had my confrontations.
Now, I take each flight as it comes, people either like it, or lump it.
I am having no one tell me where I can, and can’t fly.
I will take off from Public places, and fly within the drone code.
If they approach me I tell them to “wait until I have finished”, if the get stroppy, I add that they are breaking the law by disturbing me, while I am flying.
If they wish to continue bugging me, I tell them " If you continue to harass me, I shall call the police, and let them sort it out".
Usually by this time they realise I am not going to back down !.
Happy flying Everyone !!
from what you have said, were definitely not above 500 ft !
Got some nice shots of the steam train that goes by Kelling Heath Chris
Well said Chris, you my man are a legend,i have learnt much from you,and you are probably one of the main reasons i am still flying! Thanks, your input has been amazing, and one day soon i want to meet up with you,go for a flight or two,and definitely am going to buy you a pint or two!!!

.
Yeah Frank and I kind of agree with them (like they say no open fires) but nothing stopping you taking off away from their land and enjoying the rest of the sky.
I’ll fly anywhere and everywhere, my day job is mainly conflict management so I try stay away from it on my days off.
At the end of the day them ‘asking’ you not to fly from their land is only the same as you asking me not to rock up and take off from your front garden.
As @chrisjohnbaker says, stick within the code and ask the complainant to get the police in, or threaten them with the same.
Don’t back down on this, tell 101 they are causing you harassment, alarm or distress and the police should usually turn up.
Well @FIREFOX I have to say I am touched deeply by your comments above.
As you know I am, and have been, an active member of this Forum for a long time, and some people may find my comments a bit “near the knuckle”, or turse.
Sorry to anyone who has thought this in the past, but, that’s me !.
I am not one who goes out of his way looking for “ Mr/Mrs Knobhead” ,but, I seem to get them!.
I have met up with many, many of our Members on near over my time as a member of GADC.
Hopefully they have found me an amenable person to get on with, and, I have hopefully passed on some useful advice, and my knowledge of drones that they may find of use.
This is a wonderful Forum we have here, and that is a lot to do with our Moderators hard work behind the scenes, who allow us to speak freely our thoughts on matters.
Life would not be the same without my daily/hourly fix of the Forum.
Once again thank you for your kind words of support, and I hope to meet for “that pint” in the not to distant future.
Very Happy Unhindered Flying to You, and all our members!
Well said Chris !
