I’d be keen to hear whether the Mini 4 Pro has the same limiter, as this uses the new RC2 as well.
Are you sure that it can go faster than it’s top speed though ? My car has a top speed, limited by how fast the engine will turn when in any gear. Perhaps the motors have a built in limit that means they won’t turn any faster ? How much more voltage can the motors withstand ?
Yes, 100%. As you can clearly see from this graph. It’s limited. The Air 3 has the potential to hit 100 mph. It accelerates to 68.9 mph faster than any drone I own (bar the FPV).
How much extra voltage would you have to put to the motor windings though ? Wouldn’t wanna be flying at 90+ mph and have a motor burn out
Presumably the drone actually stops accelerating then?
Is it possible that the drone is flying faster, but the logs just don’t show any higher?
i.e. similar to a car speedo hitting the stops and just doesn’t go any higher?
Which is what I am suggesting, it’s a recent addition to these next gen drones. All previous had no such limit, and the previous gen even had Atti mode enabled from the factory. My guess is that they’ve had a few too many Care Refresh claims due to Atti runs going wrong. I am guilty of one your honour.
Voltage should be the same, just the amps to increase the power.
Yes, like hitting an invisible brick wall.
No, as mentioned above, I have calculated the average mph and it’s right (i.e. distance vs time).
how does one get access to these… plus how do you change them?
is it valid for any DJI drone or just the older and not the newer ones? (m3p, avata, fpv?)
Can’t speak for the others but FPV through DroneHacks
By using Drone Hacks > Hack Parameters > Advanced Parameters > Search > Edit > Write Parameters.
It is more for the older drones, but … I have successfully all hacked my DJI drones (except the Air 3 ) using this method.
Including …
- DJI Mavic Air 2
- DJI Mini 2 (x 3)
- DJI Mavic 2 Pro
- DJI Mini 3 Pro
- DJI Avata
- DJI FPV
Ugly word
Modded is much nicer
Noted. I shall use going forth.
To use these “mods” I’m assuming you’d have to have a controller that connects to a smartphone ? I’ve only got the DJI RC with the built in screen
No Dronehacks is done with a PC connected to the drone
And the sincoder hack is done on the DJI RC again with a PC
Wow, I’ll have to watch a few videos on this.
Any news Chris

Any news Chris
I decided not to send it back after all. Plus I have the new Sincoder RC2 hack on there too. I would need to reset the lot back to factory before sending it back. I can’t be bothered with all that.
@clinkadink After reading through all the thread I was getting excited to see the outcome Chris. The tension was building as I could see I was coming towards the last post, then…

I decided not to send it back after all.
Oh noooooooo!
