Unfortunately this is going to see some heavy bad press. On the flip it might force the CAA’s hand into quickly having to implement some sort of retailer check before selling them. It’s impossible to buy a tv without being harassed about a tv license. Drones potentially need the same sort of thing as sadly people just have no clue.

A few camera men at a football match can catch a fleeting drone on camera but the worlds media camped outside Gatwick with over a millions quids worth of high end camera equipment between them can’t?

And what tool “summoned” a helicopter?

A rogue drone is flying around the skies, quick, best get a heli up there too!!!

Seems legit, there’s no kind of risk attached to that whatsoever.

Even Picard agrees.

While laughing at that BFC drone guy on Twitter I can’t hell wondering if the police are gonna kick his door in too and have the press drag his family through the mud like poor Paul and Elaine Gait

Those pictures look like they are off air from TV. If so, you’re talking about the sort of lenses stills photographers haven’t access to. 95:1 zooms with built in x2 convertors and image stabilisers on 4k TV cameras, about £100k for the lens alone. TV camera crews are used to grabbing shots of fast moving things, it’s our job. Just think how golf is covered, getting a shot of a drone is simple in comparison.

They should have invited you to Gatwick.

And looking at social media, plenty of fans took a picture of it with their iPhones too :camera:

On the FB Mini 2 group page there’s an enhanced screen grab that seems to show the drone had a commercial operator’s logo on it.

As with everything the idiot flying this drone will give everybody a bad name. Not surprised though-how many youtube videos are there of people clearly flying in nfz with no idea or care for others.?

Might be a good time to learn the difference between NFZ and FRZ
