Yup. It finally happened! Lost my first drone. Brand new Mobeetle 6 I got just for Christmas. Gutted :cry:

And tbh, it’s not lost. I sadly know exactly where it is! :man_facepalming:

This went from epic to epic fail in the blink of an eye. MK is a super whoop playground and this is one of my fave spots (amongst many others)

Super annoyingly, completely my fault. I panic disarmed when I boinked the statue. Would have been absolutely fine had I not.

What I didn’t realise is this is about 4ft deep. And is a completely skanky algae-ridded cess pool basically. :nauseated_face:

Went home got a large fishing net and a properly strong magnet (a la magnet fishing - which is a completely bonkers hobby imho… but who am I to judge!)

Spent just over an hour with no success before retreating defeated, wet and bloody freezing.

So - if any one wants a Mobeetle 6… with free hypothermia included… you know where to look.

Sorry for yr loss, I can relate, it doesn’t look that big of an area, wrap up warm & have another go, I’m sure you could get it, if you do try again good luck mate. :+1:t2:

At 4 ft deep, with a long pole / fishing net, just keep dragging it I’m sure you’ll find it, don’t give up on it, I know it’s frustrating but a small area, mines 100 feet out in a lake, which has probably drifted down but I’ve made no attempt to recover, only just to fly the same spot, :person_facepalming:t2:

Edit, it might pay too go back when it’s darker with a big bright torch, put the torch as close to the water as possible if that makes sense, you might be able to see in the water, less off a chance in the day because of the reflection.

Gutted for you dude, and I know what it’s like too (though no idea where mine ever went!) Yeah if you hadn’t disarmed bet you might have caught that (tbh didn’t check if you were acro or angle, but I think I would have caught that in acro…). Sorry for your loss :frowning:

I’d be in there immediately. Sod the net and magnet. 4 feet? If the pool puts you off, grab some waders and jump in there.

I had a dunk in a river last year after a drone went in. Right up to my chin and 35 min later i found it with my toes, BUT it was warm so no hypothermia.

Gutted for you.

Wetsuit and a mask and snorkel. Feel with your feet for it, put mask on, dive and retrieve. I think a magnet is pointless. Fishing net should work though.

I don’t live near near MK, otherwise i’d have maybe got my drysuit out, probably wouldn’t have taken long to retrieve it.

With those gaps, I reckon a net dragged across ought to bring up more than one quad

You know the worst bit isn’t that you dropped it in the water, it’s that you dropped it in the water in Angle mode. :man_facepalming:

As you said, if you’d throttled up or just pushed sideways it would have probably flown clear. Still it happens to the best of us at one time or another. :slight_smile:

I was thinking that if you’d been running Quicksilver it probably would have recovered before it hit the water. :slight_smile:

If he gets good with his net technique he may still get to load Quicksilver on it, well after cleaning all that green algae off it.

He disarmed. wasn’t the firmware or software. Was human error we all done it. Disarmed when we could recover…

Is there something here that might work ? A simple garden rake ?

(Yes, I expect you will also find an amazing treasure trove of . . . who knows what ?)
