Budget 2024: AI and drones in £800m technology package

The police already use drones and I understand that they are used to deliver drugs in some places (although I’m not certain that this is actually for healthcare) so I don’t understand why this needs £800m of our money chucking at it?
I also can’t see why they’re chucking money into AI. Perhaps better spent trying to find some human intelligence in Westminster.
Our local council are investing heavily into AI. Phone em up now and you’re greeted by an AI voice, which usually directs you to the council website. Logging into that you are again confronted by an AI chatbot. £2million to replace half a dozen people taking calls
