Someone has put a huge amount of effort plotting that lot.
They should have just stuck to 400m from the property boundary and at any height.
Looking at the new zones on DS, for example Strangeways, clicking anywhere in the new zone just brings up the details for the helicopter restriction, in this case EGR319.
Is it possible to change the draw order or anything so that clicking within the new prison zone actually brings up the relevant details?
Not yet
Not sure if this has been mentioned in another thread as I came to this post first as itās about the topic of the new prison restrictions,
Some may know, some may not but thought Iād highlight it anyway,
I was just watching a short video on YouTube regarding the new flight restrictions over prisons, where Sean G-Vanna emphasised how more ( important ) it is now to check flight restrictions on drone scene / altitude angel as none of the new flight restrictions show within the fly app on the new restrictions applied recently, again he emphasised do not trust the fly app when checking for these restrictions as they are showing blank & he only named altitude angel or drone scene as most trusted & accurate to go by when flying / planning your flight etc.
CAA issued a warning back in October 2023 to not trust DJI map layer data.
Weāve been issuing warnings to not trust DJI data for the last seven years
Yep, by removing a lot of ārestrictions ā DJI have shifted the onus onto operators to do further checks when planning to fly. Just because the drone is allowed to take off, doesnāt necessarily mean you should be flying where you are.
Yes I remember reading that last year, sorry for banging it straight on the end of this thread, heads not with it today
Rightly so.
Inaccurate information is worse than no information at all.
Nothings changed, you have always needed to check
Yep and we all know how āaccurateā DJI maps were. ( I wonder if DJI were ever embarrassed by their inaccurate maps ?)
Probably not. They only devised their GEO system to appease the regulators in order to make the sales.
We, the end users, were never given a thought
I think they realised in the end and also are saving a shed load of cash not having to maintain it
Hmmm, I wonder if the CAA ever give a thought about us either
Other drone manufacturers are also available that have never had stupid restrictions remember
Them DJI fanboys think they the rule the roost
So true
Had I have not joined here 2 years ago this may, I would not have probably known half of this or what I do now, or maybe landed up in shit creek,
Before I go out to fly I always check drone scene & that is my 101% go to, Iām not just saying that because Iām a member here, Iām saying it because I genuinely do & no it is the best of the best, I donāt trust anything else simples !
Ahh yes, and still bound by exactly the same CAA rules
But the DJI maps didnāt follow CAA rules, they just made shit up.
Less NFZ more WTF
Yep, One thing about FRZās I found out was that if you were doing a custom unlock ( defined area within that FRZ) DJI Flysafe would ask you to provide ATC permission for the flight, but, if you were to unlock the whole zone, no permission was asked for.( and unlocked within a minute or two) Very strange indeed.
