Durdle Door Dorset before disaster struck!

Image of Durdle Door, just before my replacement Mini 2 went onto the cliff nearby…entirely my fault when I was distracted by large wave coming ashore. Unfortunately although I know the location of the drone, it’s position on the cliff makes recovery impossible

Second drone with a grabber slung under?

Along the coast to the east … Winspit / Dancing Ledge kind of area … you’ll usually find rock climbers at the weekend … learning/practicing/instructing.
You never know … for a fee … they might be willing to retrieve.

Thought of a grabber on another drone but I don’t know anyone who may have the ability and partner has already posted a request on a Dorset climbing group to see if that could happen.

Or … another, larger, drone dangling a hook on a length of string.

If I were closer I’d be willing to try with my Mavic Pro.

@OzoneVibe thanks Dave, hope someone closer may be able to assist

The rest of today, and until about 8am, the winds should be really light to allow flying close to the cliff quite “easily”.

Has this kind of thing been done with a member from here before Dave, or am i imagining things again

Probably … so many rescues over the last 6 years I can’t recall the details of all of them.

I’ve lifted a bottle of beer OK (video somewhere) so the weight of a Mini on my MP would be easier than that.

Were you downloading video to your device as you flew? That might show the cliff location better?

That won’t tell you where up the cliffs it is. Know that area like the back of my hand … some places can be reached (if brave enough) others can’t, so seeing where it went in might tempt me to pop down.

I just like an Airdata crash

Can’t beat the gnarly reality of video, though.

Find My Drone gave a map ref and I estimated a What Three Words location. It’s not far from the pathway, it’s just it’s down/up the cliff side. It’s not a sheer face, but looks loose surface and not suitable for a casual climb.
I don’t want make anyone travel too far to help out but any help gratefully received if possible.

I might be able to get down next weekend but no earlier I’m afraid
