Drone had a catastrophic Electronic Speed Controller ESC failure with no power to the 4 propellers at 170 feet. Understand this is a very rare occurrence.
Last 10 seconds of fight seen via Airdata is interesting.
Sorry to hear this. Covered by CareRefresh/Insurance I hope?
Were you recording video during the descent? That might be … insteresting, too.
Sadly no insurance in place. Also sadly no video recording running from the drone either!
“Mode changed to Autolanding”
Well - that’s one way to achieve it, I guess.
Not sure how I’d feel if my almost 4 year old MP took a dive like that.
OMG! I’d cry!
/now looking for insurance ♂
Very odd how the distance from home increases from 637 feet to 1,195 feet within the last 14 seconds?
Probably, soon after things started to go tits up, it was far from level and perhaps three props still working like mad to keep it flying causing huge horizontal velocity.
Also dropping from 167feet to zero feet in just over 7 seconds.
Airdata shows impact at 67mph+
What was the maximum horizontal speed?
Or was that the horizontal, rather than vertical impact speed?
It’s not helping poor @ChrisC2 (and very sorry for your loss, Chris!) but I did wonder whether this was the sort of profile you’d see if a drone was subject to a high-speed horizontal impact in mid-air.
Last few seconds per Airdata telemetry.
Sorry no video playback as the file is too large and Google links are not accepted.
Yip it was quite a novelty to see very briefly props on the screen, followed by blue (sky) green (grass) beige (quarry sand) emerald (quarry pond) then a very quick flashing of all of those many times in no particular order.
So if this is a once in a lifetime experience, I am clear for the rest of my droning days
Far from being anything like a consolation … if you’d like to post that screenshot into the Breaking the speed limit - #210 by OzoneVibe thread … there might be a badge in it for you.
Seeing autolanding & 67mph in the same line
I experienced a very similar fate with my Xugong V2Pro the other month or so back. Luckily for me the damage was limited to just one motor and some plastic clips that were meant to break in a crash.
Here’s hoping that one way or another you’re back in the air soon.
Nidge.
hope insurance is up to date .
Wow , that does not look good, sorry for you loss.
