Fancy Scottish Factory

19th Century carpet factory as was but now a business centre when open.
Design based on the Doge’s palace in Venice.
Owners were Templeton who exported their carpets all over the World.
Tragically, during construction the facade collapsed killing 29 women and girls at their weaving machines.

Glasgow …

The collapse happened at 5:15pm on a Friday evening 1st Nov. 1889. It faces Glasgow Green (public park).
