Yeah not a perm solution really, each adaptor has a little signal loss, useful to have. I do have some adaptors, but they not the right ones… I’d need… SMA female to RP-SMA male I guess. Oh the ones you’ve linked. Either way, I either use a different extention of wait till October to get the right antennas, lol!
Pretty much what I said, lol. I won’t cut em, will try and take em out.
Guess you could use the 5V from the VTX for the cam, but gonna wire the 3 wires from the cam to the FC (Video, 5V/GND)
I think it’s supposed to be a cleaner signal wire. No interference from the FC. Not 100% sure on how effective that is though.
My VTX doesn’t have the extra 5V so that’s what I’ve done. My FC even has all the connections in a nice row… including TX3 for smartaudio.
The vtx usually has a basic filtered 5v out supply for a camera. Some fc’s have it too. Either can be used as long as its filtered (a couple of large smd capacitors next to it on the pcb)
OK so check that on my diagram cos will probabyl use the FC as the video going there anyway from the cam, makes sence to put all three there. I could have this thing flying on Sundays session!!
So I could wire the 5V and GND from cam to the VTX, and the video to the FC. Out of the 3 wires, 2 to VTX and one to FC, guess they all connected eventually
I’ve been following this in case I learn anything useful.
I’ve got a proper replacement motor for my Croc now, so hopefully I can get that up and running again.
I think I’ve been avoiding the Nazgul because I don’t want to face the possibility that it might be knackered.
Plus I’ve been super busy with other things lately.
Good work though, chap.
Following others threads can be really useful. If can get this thing bought and built within 2 weeks of meeting you guys… I’ll be very happy. Can have got into, bought, built, and destroyed a 5inch drone all in 2 weeks
BOOM!
Which session is this???
A locali ish group never met up before. Bit outside Macclesfield called drone circle. Go see what they like!
Sounds good.
I just found their fb group. No mention of a meet on Sunday.
And we’re almost there. Camera VTX and buzzer connected and working… My q8 charging the batteries properly thanks to work for a PSU! Boom!
Nice job! This thread can hopefully help others in building an fpv quad. Once you’ve built one, the next is easy.
Thanks Karl. And thanks fro all your and others help!
We’re not quite there yet. Config going ahead and “may” have an issue… We will see
haha and thanks for your heklp too SirGunner! Think me issue physical! But we’ll see
Me and Deano seem to always be on the same wavelength, actually I have a feeling he’s in my house…
Also once your build is finished share your photos in the The Quad Show thread
