Wow, does the cold have much effect on the battery and flight duration based on your experience?
The biggest issue is keeping your batteries warm (inner pocket of a warm jacket) before the flight.
In flight the power usage keeps them pretty much at an OK temp.
Some years ago, I did a bit of investigation on the temp (and therefore battery level) recovering in flight on a cold day from the heat generated from the power drain. : Cold Air Temperature Impact on MP Battery
In that instance, I had let the batteries get a little too cold before takeoff.

When I’m flying in the cold I put one of these in my pocket with the batteries and it keeps them nice an toasty.

To be honest I didn’t take much notice. Just made my flight and came home.
