12 miles of fibre trailing behind it, over trees, buildings etc. So what happens if you fly out over trees etc , 7 miles out then return home with the fibre entwined in branches/ twigs etc ?

Quiet easy to do. The fibre is, quite obviously, VERY thin!
RTH doesn’t need connection … as most of us know or have tested.
maybe there are no trees in Germany?.. first thought I had… how do you get your expensive zoom and thermal camera drone back after a mission… followed by… do you just cut the cord of your enemies drone and they are done?
one way drone it’s maybe a good idea but a recon drone … not sure
one way drone you need to know the target direction to some degree before flight… as X miles zigzagging over bushes and occupied trenches cannot be a good idea…
Even if there were - the Ukrainian pilot has got lost.
I reckon a big problem out in Ukraine might be GPS spoofing though, if the drone has RTH and suddenly finds the home point is 200k South of where it is
Perhaps one will “spoof” its way to Southampton?

I see what its for but just imagining what could go wrong on the consumer side. There I am filming a ship and next thing im dragged in and water skiing behind it holding onto my controler because the cable is wrapped around the ships propeller.
