Alreet folks. As a new drone owner I was looking for some guidance/tips/owt for nowt pointers on good places to fly near where I live or further afield.
Options to fly are a little limited where I am due to the direct flight path above where I live (Harworth) from Doncaster Sheffield Airport and persistent reminders that I’m flying in a limited area when using the drone.
Not afraid to travel so drop me some spectacular recommendations for the next flight.
Cheers folks.

Welcome once again!
Hi Keith - welcome to GADC

Thanks for the warm welcome. The map has provided a few options that are pretty much on my doorstep.
Batteries charged and ready to go!
Welcome.
I live just next to the airport so also can’t fly in my immediate area.
I tend to use cantley park as a practice area and have met a number of other pilots while doing so.
We often have meets locally and travel to meet others from here.
What do you fly?
Hi,
I’m flying a DJI mini SE. It’s the first I’ve owned. Only bought it at the beginning of the week as a holiday present to myself.
I’ve only flown it around an hour so I’m just getting to grips with familiarising myself with controlling it.
Needless to say I’m a work in progress.![]()
I have the mini 2 so fairly similar to what you have any enjoy flying it when I’m not flying FPV.
The biggest tip I can give is practice - the more you have the better you will get.
Ask loads of questions too.
Enjoy
Hi @Fozeyes, I live in Bramley, not far from you and there is open farmland fields at Slacks Lane near Bramley cemetery where I fly my Mavic Air. There are footpaths round the fields but they are big enough to practice without endangering any walkers.
Hi welcome to the club
Thanks for the info. I’ve found a nice little area just outside of Tickhill on the road to Rossington that seems a good area. Although mainly used by dog walkers there’s sufficient space to fly without compromising any walkers and their dogs.
I’ll update as I go along with any new spots I find.
I’m also from Doncaster and I fly with @Howard78 regularly.
Practice is the word. You are doing the right thing by getting yourself completely out of the way on the fields around Rossington.
I’m out flying tomorrow somewhere not decided yet, I think @Howard78 is going to join me. Maybe @milkmanchris if he is free, you are welcome to join us.
Not sure where will be or what time, but it will happen this weekend at some point.
That’s much appreciated thank you. I’m heading away this weekend but might join on your next foray.
Welcome @Fozeyes
