Lol how on earth did you get the rest correct! Glad I’m not French. And not just for the drone license.

its a very clever test, you HAVE to watch about 20 videos, then you have to pass a training exam, based on the videos
then and only then can you take the test!

Moved your post, and the responses, over to this thread. Might be useful for others.

Did the training very well ā€˜put togetherā€˜ I thought better that their cars :joy:

Took the test for fun  have to say I struggled a bit, my impatience allowed me to be tripped up a number of times when not reading the wording correctly and couldn’t get the insurance one until I delved into the tool box section :speak_no_evil: didn’t like you couldn’t review the actual questions you got wrong just tells you Q - number Did pass eventually I got in the frame of mind ā€˜I won’t be beaten’ got my cert downloaded

Good fun though I feel like I’m more qualified to fly there than in this country now! Certainly understand there ā€˜present rules’ better than ours guess EUSA will change things for them too in the near future

Just need a passport and a free holiday win of a competition now  didn’t register my bird as that’s never going to happen

Had to do that French Certification last year, got caught out on 3 attempts, but got it on the forth.

I struggled with that one as well - so thanks. Not quite sure how I go about ā€œletting the people nearby know when an unmanned aircraft is equipped with a cameraā€ - perhaps I should pack a loud hailer or something!

I enjoyed the videos - some of the animations are quite funny!

Going to need a bigger drone - at this rate my Mavic is going to resemble one of those motorhomes with ā€œI’ve been toā€ flags and pennants stuck all over the windows!

Thanks for this info, I’ve just done both the UK and French test (took 3 goes at the French one as I couldn’t read the text in the videos) even though I have a Mini I figured as well to have something to show in France just in case some official shows unwanted interest.

Hoping to tour some of the beaches on the north coast and then maybe 2 or 3 days inland. Just to get away with the bike.

That DJI link is for drones over 800g so do I not actually need to do anything for going to France?

well presented that as I live in France and found this out the same way as you did. However when I did it it was in French only so to be able to do it in English is a plus for sure. I passed the second time as the first one I messed up completely with my translation.

can we use your address for our Opertor ID’s ?

just did this… interesting exam …

tried it 3 times kept getting 1 or 2 things wrong … got fed up trying to work out what i had selected so i screen recorded my test to make sure i knew what i’d really got wrong … cheating ? yes but wouldnt bloody have to do it if Brexit hadn’t happened.

I live in the UK, I have CAA flyerid, operator id, and an A2 CofC, none of which I think is relevant, and a Mini2. I’d like to fly the Mini2 under the Open A1 category on my camping trip in France. I don’t have any specific UK liability insurance, but could get some. I’ll only be wanting want to fly away from people, vessesls, structures.

I see a couple of threads on here from early last year that seem to say I need to

  1. Register in the 1st EU country (France) - How and where?
  2. Follow this course LZ and get a certificate.

But then some websites that say I don’t. Any views on what’s needed?

I don’t need to take the drone with me, but it would be nice to!

Cheers
