I am off to Germany soon. I can find lots of information telling me what I need to know about the rules and regulation’s but I just can not find a web site that I can actually register my drone before I go.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Got European ID via Poland (free and quiz in English)
Search forum for flying in Europe

Or register your drone in Ireland.
The quiz is in English.
Ireland is in the EU, I registered mine there so have an EASA licence

Or register via Cyprus CAA, it is in English and is both cheaper and longer lasting than Ireland.
