There are a couple of thousand recommended places to fly on the map @UkDroneRangers - you won’t be far away from several of them

Hi @UkDroneRangers

Welcome to GADC. :wave:t2:

Follow the guidance within the links that Rich @PingSpike has shared and you’ll be fine.

Don’t forget you’ll need a spotter to fly the Avata2.

Fly safe :+1:t2:

I contacted the Yorkshire Dales Park Authority to ask about drone flying and they seem quite relaxed about it, as long as you stick to the drone code and don’t cause a nuisance to people or livestock. The exception is Malham Cove between March and September as they have Peregrine Falcons nesting on the cliff. They were very helpful when I spoke to them.

@grahammoore Very useful to know :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

@grahammoore thats very helpfull thank you :+1:

As the Avata 2 is over 250g there are more restrictions on you with regard to flying near or over people so, just take care with that, I have a Mini 2 and a lot less restrictions.

Extract from a web site, so worth reading up on in CAA website.

What drone training do I need to fly the DJI Avata or Avata 2 in the UK?

To fly the DJI Avata you need complete the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service. If you want to fly closer to people you need to complete the A2 CofC Drone Course or hold an Operational Authorisation by completing a GVC course

I would also install, Drone Assist if on Android, nit sure if its available on Apple, to check FRZ zones

Flying with goggles you need a spotter with you.

Good luck, have fun

Yeah thank you for the information all very help full ive found a few places now thanks to the member of this group ,
Just hoping the weather will be good this weekend so i can get out and get some fly time :grinning:

Or the superior in every way , our very own drone scene that offers the same data set and heaps more

Not least a 24/7 support system that actually cares about its customers

(On and don’t forget with a Avata you’re gonna need a mate to act as spotter)

Cheers didnt know about dronescene app, will try that. I agree any FPV needs a spotter. If i was new to drones, then the Neo would probably been an easier option, but after adding everything else could still damage the wallet a bit

There must be loads of places in Herriot County where you could safely fly … though you may be some distance from there, given that Yorkshire is the largest UK county :rofl:. I’ve found local spots in the Go Fly app, under the “Before You Fly” section
