Or on a long string and spin in a big circle making noises?

I used to be good at making aeroplane sounds when I was a nipper, I’ll start practicing a variety of childhood planes sounds. If I take my dentures out I can even do multiple cylinders misfires….

And I bet you had a lolly stick in your bike spokes too :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Indeed my brother and I used lolly sticks but soon found we could change the sound by using folded cardboard.
I wired up break lights too using the break pad as the contact breaker between it and the rim.

I think these motors are too heavy, 925Kv…

I really want to recycle, I’ll just have to get on and finish the Zorro Wing in the meantime.

Digging even deeper into the pile of electrical bits in another drawer, I found these Mavic Pro 1 motors which were sold as new from China.

When they got delivered I noticed tiny curry sauce on one and cuts to the wires, these were in a sealed bag. I notified eBay who after receiving my pictures refunded my money, I was more than happy for the seller to pay for the return post to China. I never heard from him.

I think these will do nicely……

I think that’s me sorted…CW / CCW…just need to solder new wires as these have loads of tiny nicks.

er… steve is putting 2.5" props on his (I think) … those look about 6"

Oh, hang on 5125… they’re 5"

I’m planning on 3"

Is this for the small foam plane?

That’s what this thread is all about.

The props are bigger that the planes wingspan

Now I’ve moved to twin motors I’m probably going to use 3” as well :+1:

I looked at the glider Karl’s converting which made me think of recycling what I have in stock.

Everything I have is too heavy for that small glider, so I ordered a slightly larger toy epp that might take my bits.

The prop and motor are 8x3.3 Mavic Pro1, I really think they’ll be a perfect fit for a 500mm span.

A little different but all good fun….

The only way I’d be able to go 3” is to cannibalise a 3” quad. Although I preferred 3” it’d mean buying motors.

Too damn right! You’ll chop our baby warplanes up in seconds!

I am working out how to build my plane. Seen some interesting planes on YouTube built out of CARDBOARD!

@Dolphin seen this?

Love it, I’m going to have a go at this awesome plane. The cardboard is easy to get and I’ve spare electronics.
I think a coat of clear lacer or a thin layer of diluted PVA glue would water proof the cardboard. The motor mount can be 3D printed, I’d probably 3D print a cap for the leading edges to save them from being damaged while transporting it around.

I’ll pop over to the print shop to see how much an A1, A0 print will cost, check out eBay for the cardboard and modelling dope.

Also briefly seen in episode 2 of Droners on Amazon. (Flite Fest, Ohio)
