@Dolphin seen this?

RC Plane out of Cardboard Racing Quads, Self-builds & FPV

Someone has got to have a go at making one of these! star_struck[Cardboard RC Airplane DIY - F22 Raptor l S-DiY]

I’ve got the ball rolling, just waiting on a quote for A0 size which should workout at 65cm span. Single Cardboard sheets from Amazon small pack of 5 although other thicknesses are available.

I’ll update when I have finalised what’s what… :writing_hand:

I wonder what’s in this box….

I’ll have to do a YouTube unboxing in the hope of 1.9M viewers….

Digging even deeper in the workshop, I found these props which will require reaming out to size. They are 6X4.5 I think the’ll not draw a higher current than the stock Dji which are 8X3.3, will see.

Ready for the foam glider and beyond….thanks to @notveryprettyboy great idea.

Good luck, Lance. Tried mine today. It flys, but crashes too. Could have been the wind. I’m rebuilding it better - re a proper cofg

“Is that taken from the black box recorder”…

I cut some lines in the foam to guide the servo wires. It weakened the frame. @Steviegeek has suggested a cf spar in the wing.

Ah yes, the wings bent upwards… I thought for a while that was normal, but yes the slots will cause that.
Also look at using gaffer tape on the top of the ailerons as hinges. Simpler and probably promotes airflow better than the way you had it. It’s what my now destroyed 3d printed plane had and works pretty well.

Yeah. I’m going to. Plus I’ll make the flaps longer and wider.

Gutted for you. Flew well though.

Meh… it was a giggle. I’ll rebuild it better…

@notveryprettyboy When did you print that? At least the pilot walked away…:face_with_spiral_eyes:

It’s not mine. Ii’s @Yith brilliant frame. 1 layer thick!

Are two of these a bit overkill or do I need to top up on my medication…

I printed it a couple of months ago. There are posts about it. It was about time it got its maiden flight.
My first fixed wing with predictable results.

I wanted to alter it anyway.

“If you dont make the turn, you aint never gunna learn”

It did what you wanted it to. And it took off well.
