The challenge will run from Wednesday 24th September 00,01 hours until Friday 24th October 22,00 hours where a poll shall be put up shortly after for all GADC members to cast their votes !

The poll for voting shall be open till Monday 27th October 22,00 hours to see who has taken top place, top place winner gets to chose the next challenge, Then the new challenge shall commence asap of that same week !

The challenge set out below are the rules from @ORB_FPV so please read on,

Dear fellow FPV pilots, you guys rock!
Here is my suggested next challenge, growing a bit from the previous one, but not going full out yet!

I would like you to have two objects (trees / poles or similar) spaced from each other 5-15m, away from people. The challenge is to fly ACRO smoothly around the two objects creating at least 3 figure of eight in a row. The key part of the challenge is throttle control - make sure that you go as fast as you feel comfortable with, but remain as much parallel (and therefore constant altitude) to the ground as possible - between 30cm and 4-5 meters max.
BONUS POINTS: on who manages to turn around the objects facing the sky (once or more), instead of the ground (!)

#1 You the pilot should share a continuous video of this challenge (not a snipped and joined video),
#2 please kindly state at the top of your entry ( this is my entry ) with time date & location,
#3 please state the aircraft/Fpv used,
#4 upload your video via YouTube or Vimeo, if at anytime you would like to change your entry please delete the old one & post the new one, also feel free to add anything with your entry that maybe of interest,

In the “ hopefully unlikely “ event of dispute the original footage maybe required, failure to do so may result in your entry being withdrawn !

This is your challenge so feel free to chat, bant, rant as much as you like or help each other if where when needed but please try to keep it on topic, the rules are very simple as above & below, I look forward to your entries enjoy.
If your new to the challenges you can see what goes on Here

All flights carried out are the sole responsibility of the flyer as per the drone code & any permissions that maybe needed, enjoy & may the force be with you ! :slightly_smiling_face:

I was thinking maybe due to weather & everyone’s commitments it’s not always easy to get out I know, however really look forward to seeing some entries & we can always extend the date so people have more flexibility & time :slightly_smiling_face:

I got a new place pretty much straight away and am having a drone night there shortly so its all good :+1:

I was all set to do mine this weekend, perfect location found with two suitable posts of interest to weave around.

But Storm Amy put an end to that.

Here is my entry (for now :innocent: )

Mine (! laaaaate !) will be in soon - did an attempt today - but need to check it out… and I definitely did not try the “looking up” at any moment in the eight ball -respect to anyone who would do that!!

I am not sure what you mean by that - like pitching up and on the side to go behind the post (as if you wanted to start a trippy spin around it?) and then yawing 180 degrees back to ‘normal fwd flight’ to the other post? or the whole 8 in reverse? or ??

Good practice
My throttle control needed a good work-out

Not a big FPV flyer and most definatly not a big manual flyer when I do fly the Avata so thought I would give this challenge a go - man its HARD ! haha

So wish I could submit this ( thought I might be able to submit some of this flight as the start of it was in Sport Mode then I did switch to manual, just need to check over the video on this and see how good / bad it all is. One thing for sure is I have found a new level of respect for you guys that do FPV for real.

A tap my hat to you guys that make this look easy and thanks for such a great challenge to encourage me to get other there and learn some new skills.

Hopefully I will have something worthy of posting in the next day or so when I have had time to look though the 4 batteries worth of footage I took haha.

I totally agree with that, and everything else that you said.
I had a bash at it this afternoon with my Neo/goggles/motion controller (first time for me, ever) and I have to congratulate you on your figure 8 pattern.
Picture the scrawl that a 2 year old has put onto the fridge - my effort was worse than that :poop:
I am hopeful of getting something close eventually though…I’ve said elsewhere, someone has to come last.

from the sky down it looks good - from the view on the drone mmm its up / down all around haha - nothing smooth about it

That seems the hardest part to me too. What controller do you use?

Using the FPV controller 2 for the Avata.

You can get the same sort of controller for the Neo it’s the controller 3 you need. It will take your flying to a new level. ( Sim time needed!!)

sorry if I was not clear - I meant do the figure of eight… and if you go real hard, you inertia will keep the quad vertical as you mix yaw and roll. If you go real fast, you will use much more roll than yaw, and your FPV camera is likely to look down to the grass, as you fly around and around.

The super hard challenge (I won’t do it) would be to keep the quad vertical, but upside down (ie you are right like a trippy). Honestly, if you do that (or however here) then you rock. And no matter if you do it around on single pole or more
