As our social media following grows we’re keen to re-share some of your amazing photographs with our wider audience.

To help us credit and tag you correctly when we re-share your media on our social platforms, please update your profile (at https://greyarro.ws/my/preferences/profile) with your social media details :slight_smile:

Here’s an example of our own account settings so you know what format to use for the various social platforms:

An added benefit of adding your social media links to your profile is that they then become visible to other club members too :star_struck:

Is there any way to opt-out, at leat of X / Twitter which i now boycot for obviouss reasons? Posting our pucs elsewhere really should be an opt-in thing.

The re-sharing of publicly-accessible photographs and videos has always been very clearly stated in the User Content Licence section of our Terms of Service (ToS).

You agreed to our ToS when becoming a member of Grey Arrows Drone Club and we have been re-sharing our members content, with full accreditation, for many years.

In the absence of a specific profile setting on Discourse to opt-out of this part of the agreement we recommend you edit your profile and set one of your social media links to:

DO NOT RESHARE

For example:

You may enter this in any social media platform section.

Grey Arrows Drone Club will honour any member who applies this on their profile and we will not re-share your media on our social platforms where this has been applied.

Good idea, but shame Flickr is missing, my main photo sharing site. I guess it’s not social media strictly speaking, as there’s no general stream, so difficult for you to use.

For us Musk and Zuckerberg refuseniks could you add Bluesky as (yet another) option? Flickr would be good too.

Yes, it’s great to promote great content from this site, but it would be good to see it presented in a more benign context as well as the usual places.

Oh it’s lovely GA do it, I think adding the opt-out info to the bio edit page might be helpful, otherwise one doesnt know you can (unless you happen to ask).

For clarity, the club is not active on Bluesky, we’ve simply reserved our name on it like we’ve done on every other social network.

Keep the social network requests coming, we’ll even add Threads if there is enough member interest :smiley:

I don’t think this is anything I have to worry about, no sane person will want to share my pics :joy: The only Social media I have is FB, but only for family. Sadly, social media has been hi-hacked and used and abused in such a negative way, not how it was intended to be used :slightly_frowning_face: Sharing positivity, like beautiful drone pictures is exactly what it should be for, unfortunately we have to run the gauntlet of those intent on harming our children to access the positive bits :angry:
