Greetings from West Lothian!

Hi there! Been interested in drones and flying in general for years finally bit the bullet and bought a DJI Neo 2 after a lovely hike with the Scouts at Glen Ogle where I was thinking how nice some drone shots of the group would be so decided to go for the Neo 2 to get some nice, easy shots while allowing me to try out full controller flying and potentially FPV!

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

Our Bronze Members are able to enjoy a lot of great services for free but our Silver and Gold Members are eligible for a whole lot more! Read all the details about our Membership Benefits?

And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.

Welcome once again!

Hi from sunny Blackpool.

And West Lancs Scouts.

Not a leader myself, though have been involved with West Lancs Scouts for quite a few years as a volunteer.

Scouts have been inspirational in the lives of both my daughters.

My eldest was a cub leader before going to university. And both daughters have travelled the world with scouts (Mongolia, China, Uganda & Kenya , (visiting Baden Powells grave) and more etc.

They both have developed a keen liking for travel and exploration and gained their Explorer Belt.

My youngest is now keen to join the Antarctic Survey (as she’s coming to the end of her Zoology Degree).

That’s awesome! My son and daughter are both in scouts as young people - my son is an Explorer who’s helping out with the Beavers and seems to be really enjoying it. I started helping at university though I took a break when our kids were born and have just reached my 10 year award. It’s a great group and I love being a part of it.
